It still is a one day event. An 8 block parade.

I think the link has updated info.

Also, I think DC residents are largely trapped in the city this weekend. Here's the bridge situation:

The following highway exits, freeways, expressways, and bridges will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately at 12:01 a.m. on Friday June 13, 2025, through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025:

Eastbound I-395 Exit 1 toward 14th Street / National Mall
Eastbound I-395 HOV exit toward 14th Street / National Mall
Eastbound I-395 Exit 3 toward 12th Street Expressway
Eastbound E Street expressway
Inbound TR Bridge split to Independence Avenue
Inbound TR Bridge split to Constitution Avenue
Northbound Potomac River Freeway exit toward E Street
Westbound I 395 Exit 4A and 4B toward 12th Street, SW and Maine Avenue, SW
Westbound E Street Expressway split to Southbound Potomac River Freeway
Southbound Potomac River Freeway exit toward Independence Avenue and Maine Avenue
Southbound Potomac River Freeway exit toward E Street
Arlington Memorial Bridge
The following expressways will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 9:00 p.m. on Friday June 13, 2025, through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025:

12th Street Expressway
9th Street Expressway entrance from Constitution Avenue, NW

Can’t you do Father’s Day plans on Sunday?

There are tons of closures until 6 AM Monday. This whole thing is idiotic and more disruptive than necessary. And the audience for this would have absolutely lost their minds if Biden or Obama wasted tax dollars on such a propaganda -ish display.

I will laugh so hard if we get big thunderstorms on Saturday. This is one parade I’d be glad to see getting rained on. (Not that I plan to watch either way).

Closures til Monday! Didn't realize that, I just sort of assumed that since I wasn't planning to go anywhere near downtown all weekend, none of this would be a problem.

How will Trumpers get to their event? Do they know how to metro?

They will begrudgingly attempt to metro if they are somewhat local to DC, but only on certain lines. People coming in from the hinterlands are terrified of metro and will try to drive.

can we talk about DCA? Have a flight saturday evening that has not been cancelled (on jetblue) and trying to figure out how we could logistically make it there from marlyand. can't take the metro due to logistics.

That is exactly what I was picturing when I posted.

Would Trump order them to run people down?

Yes he has already said it.

Most tourists don’t know how to take the metro and try to drive. It’s going to be interesting.

Don’t know a local soul who’s trying to be there and most are trying not to be in the city this week if they can help it.
