GA dismantling ECNL in Mid-Atlantic

GA is the new DA and is overshadowing ECNL. There will be a mass exodus of quality players into ga.

It hasn't happened this year because quality players are flocking to the remaining ECNL teams. Does the mass exodus start next year? Two years? We need to know so we can start planning.

CSA’s strong programs don’t look too great recruitment wise for 2026 with one team, why make two?

This is just an opinion and not based on any facts.

2008s, 2009s and 2010s should stay in ECNL as they'll remain the dominate league for the next year or so - basically by the time they get recruited.

2011s - this is a tough group to choose. I'd lean GA though.

2012s, 2013s and younger - they should definitely go GA, GA should surpass GA as the dominate league in 3~4 years.

But why will GA dominate in 3-4 years? Because you’re at a ga club?

For senior players - would you stay in ECNL if it meant joining a large roster where players would have to sit out games?

The rumored 2011 player movement for next year (with FVU, VDA and Arlington skimming off the top of departing teams' rosters) wouldn't support leaning GA for the 2011 age group in the DMV area. Also yet to be seen whether all the clubs in Louduon can keep GA1 or get sent to Aspire next year. But GA probably the better choice than RL at this point for 11s.

I would join a team that will allow me to play my best in the showcases where the schools I'm interested in will be at.

It’s a huge loss for all these clubs to leave ECNL. Just like last year when they left ga. The reversal has only begun with mlsn driving it.

no we're at an ECNL club but don't have our head in the sand about the future landscape of girls soccer and what's best for our DD. Like i said, it was just an opinion

Some will move their team to aspire but remain ga

Everybody should shame people like this. This is most likely a grown man that is overly involved in his 14 year old daughter’s sport. This is the type of guy that probably calls the coach after every game asking how his kid did.

Get a life moron

Going into next year, RU will have one team per age group in NL, but 3 teams per age group in RL with the Blue teams playing in the VA RL north and the Red and Orange teams playing in the VA RL south. The plan is to have these blue teams make their way to NL. When? Maybe sooner rather than later if the Mid-Atlantic continues to shed teams to GA.

Interesting times...

Fair point. 2011 should focus on good coaching, training, and playing time with next year being the last non recruiting year. Wait until the clubs and leagues make more moves that aren’t in their best interest and make your move then.
