And why are my Dem reps not standing up to Trump?

Even regular people who voted Trump couldn't have anticipated Trump 2.0. They just wanted to get rich the old fashioned Republican way. Don't think they are happy. They are just quiet and that's fine because they didn't go all in on MAGA merch like you might have.

They can swing the other way and no one is the wiser.

Don't get too comfy

I really feel like people who were truly paying attention could and should have anticipated what Trump was going to be like this time around. J6 should have scared everyone....it should have ended him.

J6 should have ended Trump's career in public service and would have had we nominated someone capable of serving two terms in 2020. Oops.

One of our problems is the DNC donor class. They literally CHEATED in the primaries, against Bernie Sanders, in 2016 and 2020. It's not even in dispute. And they cheated us out of ANY legitimate primary in 2024 so they could put up an unpopular candidate. We're not going to get someone popular with the masses by letting our billionaire donors choose someone safe for their selfish interests.

Democrats - instead of hysteria and hyperbole, you need a good candidate and a good vision for 2028.

Other than merely saying "whatever Trump says or does, we want the opposite," what is your plan?

and who is a serious, electable candidate?

This is SPOT ON.

AFTER being convicted of felonies, after being held liable for sexual assualt, after being banned from Twitter, after J6. Most voters STILL wanted what he was selling. Including firing some bureaucrats. Taxpayers want that!
Democrats have been resisting this, and our party's approval rating has dropped a lot more than Trump's has! We have to pick a few things to agree on so we can chalk up SOME wins in the next few years. We can't let Trump have the only accomplishments (good and bad) and just say #theresistance #neverthelessshepersisted

The Democrats have tried the let's be more like Republicans tactic. It doesn't work. Why would it? If people want republican policy, they're going to vote for Republicans. Democrats lost because they refuse to listen to their base, and can't give their base what they want because they can't upset their donors, ie. The same folks who run the republican party.

People want affordable Healthcare, affordable housing, good jobs, and a decent standard of living for themselves and their kids.

It's a very simple platform. It's basically Bernie's whole thing. But the Democrats scream that it's simply too "out there." Why? If they ran on that platform and stopped chasing republican votes at the expense of actual democratic voters, they might have a chance.

But they won't. There job is not to actually help. It's controlled opposition. A pressure release valve. They would never actually do anything to challenge the wealthy elite that run this country and fund their campaigns.

Shut the EFF up. Bernie was NOT A DEMOCRAT. So why should he have gotten the dem nom? He should not have.
But the bigger issue is you still on here nearly 10 years later whining about it.

That is their job. They are leaving illegalities up to the courts - and the courts are doing their job, too.

I would argue at this point it’s not about policy, it’s about stopping the coups. And Democrats are expecting the courts to save them when everything will only end up at the corrupt Roberts court.

I have no issue leaving it up to the courts. And I wouldn't call it "corrupt" - just because you don't agree with many of the SCOTUS decisions doesn't make it corrupt.

At least 3-4 of them LIED during confirmation. And 1 of them has SIGNIFICANT conflicts of interest. This is the very definition of corrupt and you know it.

Yes, this should have been the end. The fact it didn't tells me everything I need to know about today's Republicans. They are traitors to democracy, all of them.

It always cracks me up when you guys talk about the leftie echo chamber. Go outside of the MAGA echo chamber and everyone agrees Trump et al are unhinged. Unless everyone—and I mean everyone including our allies-are part of the Deep state. Go read a non-American newspaper. You really are part of a cult.

You can fairly argue Sanders shouldn't have been the nominee as that is a matter of opinion. The glaring problem was the efforts by the DNC to create an uneven playing field in the favor of the candidate most preferred by their wealthy donors. Any candidate that appeals to a noticeable amount of Dem voters should be given a fair chance in an open primary; especially a candidate that can manage a primary victory in the all important swing state of Michigan and that candidate was Bernie Sanders in 2016.

And how will the courts enforce their rulings? They can't with out Congress. An ineffective Congress is a definite danger

This country has a culture of obeying court orders. We all know that when you get to the point of disobeying a court order, you are in the wrong. This is who we are.

There are two prominent people in our government today that do not believe in following court orders, and admittedly they are powerful people, but they are a tiny minority compared to the numbers of department heads, leaders, and the rank and file of the civil service. Court orders will be followed.

Uh if you say so

If you are a true American, you should hope so.

Perhaps you didn't notice the improper gifts received by Justice Thomas, or his wife's sketchy involvement in Jan. 6.
Or Justice Alito's recent behavior.
It's called corruption.
