This is my onky hesitation. Otherwise I’m excited to see it though haven’t seen the stage production, only heard clips over the years. How did they make it so long? Are they importing material from the book that was omitted from the stage musical? |
No interest. I hate having the promos constantly shoved down our throats and the two leads gushing about it like they cured cancer. Bleh. |
Can you imagine IF THEY READ THE BOOK!!! |
It’s based on a 1990s book that was a different take of the Baum books. A VERY different take. |
Yes, the movie is based on the musical that’s based on the book that was inspired by the original Wizard of Oz 1900 book. But the musical (& movie, I assume) is much tamer & more family friendly than the book Wicked. |
We found the Grinch. |
I’ve read the book
I’ve seen the broadway musical I love WOZ I hope this doesn’t ruin it |
What a terrible idea. |
Here's an article going over the changes between the musical and the film. Spoilers included: https://playbill.com/article/10-changes-the-wicked-movie-made-to-the-broadway-musical |
I absolutely love Wicked, but the run time is outrageous. 2 hours, 40 min- plus with previews will likely be 3 hours. Honestly, I couldn’t even do that at home much less in a theatre.
I don’t like Cynthia at all. She should stick to stage productions. I’m curious about Arianna in this because she got her start on Broadway. I will just wait to hear what the non-paid critics say. |
It’s just such an obvious cash grab that it instantly turns me off from the film. |
There is no reason for it to be 2 parts too |
I hated the book (I’m typically a tolerant reader), but I loved the theater musical. Is this closer to the book or the original musical? |
I saw it last night. It was fine, but I didn't love it. I belong to AMC A List so I see nearly every movie that comes out. I would say Wicked is overly long and it gets a bit boring in the middle. I also saw Gladiator, so I am officially part of the " Glicked" Club now. |
is Gladiator worth seeing? |
