Wicked

It looks great! I was thinking of bringing my 8 yo. But didn't realize that Wicked Part 1 alone is 2 hours 40 min so we'll see.

+1 hard to sit through without having to go pee.

Have you never been to a broadway show either ?
Would never wait for Netflix or streaming for this kind of movie. So much better in a huge theater. And I love the energy of watching with a live audience (although I hope no one sings along either).
I am sure they will so special screenings for singing a long and that’s fine for people who love that stuff too.

Apparently they are planning sing-along showings around Christmas

Since it's not a "theater" experience (we are going to see it in NYC) and is just a movie theater experience with the finest of my hometown mouthbreathers, then I'm going to wait for both to be released, watch them over a weekend with my teens. We can pause and our home theater is far more comfortable.

I take it you haven’t seen the musical.

No, I haven't.

So maybe don’t come on with uneducated takes.

Get a grip. She's comparing it to the original movie.

To be fair, Broadway shows have an intermission when they're this long. This isn't Return of the King long, at least.

That one ragged scale the green lady keeps hitting in all the adds is godawful. I am assuming she is famous/does theatre/is considered an amazing singer but it sounds so bad I have to immediately mute/change channel when the ads come on.

All that singing in a small space will be a super-spreader event. But sounds fun.

Now there's a phrase I haven't heard in awhile.

Thanks for coming to my defense. I was comparing it to the original, 1900, text. I'm not entirely sure the other poster is aware it was a book first

good lord. Some of you are incredibly high maintenance. Just stay home and catch it when it streams. Sounds like some of you need that.
