Player safety is definitely an issue, 2 refs is a must, if budget is an issue prioritize older age groups.
Don’t forget the protective netting behind goal please, it’s been forgotten at past Fall Brawls. |

No it's not a must, no actual lacrosse coaches see it that way. And as mentioned, penalties for the most part aren't even that penal. The goal is 20+ yards from the midline. Essentially the top of the box. And the field is thin. The ref is literally right there. And there's no body checking. If I had a nit, refs shouldn't be in charge of scorekeeping, but it's an off-season -scrimmage -fun competition, so it goes. |

I think some of the other out of season tournaments have 2 refs. I believe the one my dd did at South Lakes last year did (the Valentine one). I agree it’s better run. Take you daughter’s team there and vote with your wallet.
