Lucky the GC 9th graders weren't there, they would have won the A bracket, much less JV.

SR struggled but was missing a lot of talent. HC looked good too.

Visi missing their best player looked surprisingly good. Did they pick up any transfers?

My observation is that Visi just featured some of their younger talent yesterday. Some strong sophomores there, and Junior HG player went off. And they didn't have their Freshman playing either. Folks on the other thread who have discounted Visi, may have done so prematurely. That said, SR didn't have 5-6 of their top players, and the Saints weren't there at all.

I recall people saying Visi has a horrible Sophomore class. I thought I heard they got a transfer from a VA school.

The general consensus is that the 2028 DMV class is seen as somewhat weak, with its talent scattered across multiple schools, including public schools in Virginia. The sophomore class at Visi reflects this situation. As far as I know, there hasn't been a transfer from Virginia to Visi, but unless it's a top-tier player (e.g., someone from M&D Black or Hero's Green) it wouldn't significantly impact things anyway.

Sorry. There is very little talent in the public schools. Battelfield debates are so dumb. No one even knows what Battlefield is.

Agreed. If the Battlefield kids are smart, and as good as folks say, they should transfer to a private ASAP to play with and against the top talent. Also looks good on a resume if the goal is to play in college.

College coaches consider club. They generally don't care about which HS a player attended (other than to the extent it impacts the academic index, if any, that the coach must meet for admissions).

Looking forward to their varsity debut in spring 2028.

Visi freshman were robbed in a braveheart vs HC. They also lost to PVI and SR 8th graders.

8th graders? Do they not have freshman to play in the JV div? What happened to this "deep" team??

It was a mix of SR 8th and 9th graders in the JV bracket, which SR won.

Mostly 8th graders in the JV bracket. The actual JV team played in the varsity/top bracket. I don’t think any of their returning varsity players showed up.

Why would you want your kid to go to a private and turn out to be a pompous ass like most of the parents would have children at privates. I’m sure they went there.

The Stone Ridge 2029s are building quite a reputation for getting it done on and off the field - way to go girls!

Playing in the prviate leagues makes the players way better. Blowing out other weak public schools by 20 doesn't make anyone better.

Please explain. There is maybe one 29 at SR that will get some varsity time but the SR class to watch for is the 30s. They won the JV fall bracket.

We'll see how many of those SR 2030s even stay for high school, you're talking about 8th graders

4, possibly 5 are gone for high school.

Where would they go? SR is top in academics and lacrosse, what else could they be looking for?
Anonymous
Of the SR 2030s I know who are leaving they are looking at boarding school, or a co-ed school, or a place with less toxic social dynamics. The school usually loses 20 or so girls from 8th to 9th grade, and then will add 50 new girls. It's not for everyone.

I believe the prior comment was actually a thinly veiled dig at the social activities of the SR 29 girls, which has been extensively covered in a now-locked thread in another forum.
