Fall Brawl

It is mostly volunteer parents and coaches that register, manage, and coach. Don't blame the Rec Orgs. They are not involved at all. There are plenty of overzealous parents creating super teams to play but we need more parents that volunteer with a different mindset to make this event what everyone remembers.

Correct. Teams are generally formed by rec coaches (not rec entities) and they do that by sending out an email to their team that is eligible to play. They see what they have on numbers and go from there. And again it is generally kids and their parents are the ones that look for opportunities to play. So you have to be proactive.

But, anyone can start a team and submit it to fall brawl just can't be a club team. There is no nefarious plot to keep rec only kids out because you can form your own team. Several "rec" programs have multiple teams playing in fall brawl this year. All it takes is some initiative.

Agree it seems against the spirit of Marty/Robin (who have been great to run this tournament every year) but not much they can do.

Marty Megabucks and Robin Robbery. Paying for one referee per game. Too cheap. Dont care about quality officiating or player safety.
Got to be da Money!

Feel free to pony up and get more referees.

Thanks Marty, got you out of hiding again. Not enough t shirt sales this year to pony up for quality refs? At least you moved the tourney away from the worst parking venue in the area with that abomination of a field in Leesburg. It's definitely all about the money.

They are out there. Yes, they (M&R) need to Pony (Pay) up and hire a 2nd ref for each game.
Not buying the BS about shortage of officials. Nice try, Fall Brawl owners.

THIS Fall Brawl tourney is NOT SAFE. I watched my kids team play, and the ONE Referee did the draw, and literally stood at the center field line and didn't move. Out of position, and cannot possibly make the calls. Players get away with slashing and checkes to the head. What's the over/under on concussions for the Fall Brawl? Has anyone checked FanDuel or BetMGM prop bets?

Seriously-- Fall Brawl is setting themselves up for a lawsuit.
Gross negligence.

Don't play

Feel free to PONY UP?!?! That's your response, Marty? Robin?

You make a God-damn fortune and are more concerned about saving an extra $5,000 and would rather jeopardize players safety and health.
You all need to "pony up"

Cool. Got it.

Glad my kid's team is not playing in the Injury waiting to happen Fall Brawl.

Would you have your kid play if there were more refs?
You're really mad about someone making money?
Why don't you take less salary or less commission in whatever you or your spouse's occupation is.
It's not $5000, it's more like $55,000 for 2 more officials per game for 12 divisions.
Pony up or go start your own tournament.

The "draw?" first of all there is only once face off to start the game so that makes zero sense. Almost never get concussions from checks to the head most come from hits or most a shot to the helmet when the player turns the head. Kids play at prospect days, showcases, practices, ect with zero refs and come out just fine. They go harder at many showcases then they do a fall brawl. This is just a ridiculous post. Small field and no take out checks so one ref is fine. They do not even enforce time served penalties.

There is a Girls Brawl too, and it is called a draw, not a face off, you jackwagon... don't be so narrow minded.

Need 2 officials per game. Not one.. why are you saying Pony up to me?
It should be you, Marty and Robin!

Not against someone making money- but I am against lack of safety and putting kids in danger with lack of control of games. Hell... why have any referees at all? Make even MORE MONEY!!

Lacrosse may not be the sport for you or your kid.

Lacrosse parents are the worst.

LOL, nice response Marty and clowns. I'm sure you won't be around to discuss this at the tourney, too busy selling over priced shirts at the merch booth. Have to count every dollar and can't even PONY up for the nicer jerseys and shirts, back to the old tired T shirts.

Keep digging your hole.

No dog in the fight here. How much does it cost to enter a team in Fall Brawl? Just curious- is it a flat fee?

Thank you for doing your civic duty on an event you aren’t participating.

$85 per player and they require 12 players on each team. Add that up and you realize who owns the new Ferraris out front.
