My partner eyes up other women - am I too sensitive?

Anonymous
Men in their 40s and 50s never grew up in the age where women were walking around half naked 24/7. That didn't happen. In school girls rarely wore skirts. Now, girls are in skin tight pants and shirts that show everything but their tits.

So, yeah it's hard not to look at 20 year old hotties dressed in almost nothing with amazing sexy bodies.

It's normal.

You must be a woman. As soon as an attractive woman is out of eyesight they are forgotten. Think of it like a sunset or a piece of art. You admire and then go about your day.

I'm a woman and I know this, but let's be honest: There's a difference between some random woman who you never see again and someone in your life who you're physically-attracted to and you may think about them while w/ your wife or alone...

Look it’s normal to notice but if you do it blatantly in front of your partner, you’re kind of a dick.

I’ll never forget talking with an older male colleague at work in my mid-20s. We were shooting the breeze and he was in his 60’s. All that just to say, there was NOTHING but friendship there. Anyway we somehow got on this topic and he said that when there’s a “hot body” he’ll notice it. But as it moves by, he keeps his eyes and neck straight ahead so as not to disrespect his wife. He was a wise man.

With my husband, I point out the attractive woman.

Of course there is, but that’s not the issue here. Whose husband are you dreaming about to trigger your comment?

I think I look harder than my husband. But I think if they see me, it’s not nearly as threatening or gross as if a middle aged man was looking. Not that I would be caught making any kind of weird face. I just like looking at hot girls! It reminds me of my youth and I try to keep up with what they’re wearing. And they’re hot and it’s fun to look at them.

Thank you! My wife does the same, it means nothing it’s just a tiny bit of fun, no one is staring being weird, just a quick glance to admire and then it’s back to our dinner.
I can guarantee those of you shaming and controlling your husbands that your spouse has absolutely terrifying taste in porn.

Better to look at someone in person then watch corn, right?

Last summer I was in Paris with my Dad who is 68. We were sitting at a cafe late one afternoon just people watching and there was no doubt he was subtly eyeing the beautiful women walking by. But so was I and the men. At one point I said DAD!!! when a stunner walked by and he looked at me and said “I’m not dead!” Then he said, “all of these people around us have no idea that you are my daughter so deal with that.”

I'm 50 and was walking with my teenage son and this disgusting 40ish yo man was blatantly ogling me. I was wearing mom type clothes, nothing eye catching. Some men are just disgusting and will sexualize any female who passes by.

maybe he was a creepy gay pedo checking out your son?

A better question would be: what if men noticed their wives takung a quick glance at attractive men?

Right. Dog Bites Man is not a news story. But Man Bites Dog? Interesting.

I'm gen x and definitely rocked half shirts, micro minis, spandex jeans w/o pockets, low rise jeans with a thong, etc, etc. And I was a "good girl". Guys in their 40's and 50's most definitely saw some things.

My DH is not visual at all and rarely checks out other women. I do (I am female and attracted to both genders). I try not to be obnoxious about it. I don't think it's a huge problem if it's an appreciative glance.

He was looking at me and flicking his tongue between his fingers.
