WI is gerrymandered (as are other states, to be reasonable about it). My question there, for all you political people out there is, isn’t that a done deal for 10 years?

Not at the state level.

I would add that breaking the Koch lock on Wisconsin will open up not only gerrymandering but all of the boards and commissions that Governor Evers has been denied legal appointments. What the GOP has done in that state is anti-democratic and unAmerican. It is shocking it hasn't received more attention.

Absolutely yes that it is shocking that it hasn't received more attention. Where is the NYT and WaPo on this? It's shameful.

Usually? Caping for the GOP.

Those are great numbers for the Democrats to start with.

I live in Milwaukee and see Protasiewicz signs everywhere. The D candidate will always win in Milwaukee, so that's not surprising, really it's more about the turnout - if Milwaukee can turn out, that's always good for the Dems. And people seem to be fired up about the election, so I think turn out will be good (/is already good).

+1 from a WisDems donor. Ben Wikler is really good at this.

Oh, yeah. That's a big one too. Due to gerrymandering, right now Dems would have to win somehting like 65% of the vote statewide to get in the majority in the state house and senate. So even though they have a Dem governor, the legislature is overwhelmingly Republican because the maps are so bad. It sucks.

Are you OK when Democrats do the gerrymandering, like in NY, Ill, MD, and Calif?

California had a special commission. They did not gerrymander in NY, that's why Rs picked up seats. Just wait til the D states start gerrymandering. Rs will never win again.

California has an independent commission, as do blue states like Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Just those three and California could have Gerrymandered the House to the Dems, but didn't. NY, a GOP infuenced court, basically gerrymandered extra red seats out of NY, otherwise, that would have been 3 more blue seats in the 2022 cycle. Yes, Illinois and Maryland are gerrymandered. Now lets talk about NC, SC, GA, FL, MS, AL, AK, TN, OH, LA, IN, WI, IA, NE, TX, OK and MT.

Why is it the GOP ALWAYS votes against voting reform bills that include anti-gerrymandering rules and then people like you come back to "but MD" and "but IL" - every.single.time.

Just a little more turnout in Milwaukee in '22 and Barnes would've won WI Senate. Hope nothing is left behind today.
