"the most consequential election you probably haven't heard about."
the primary was today. currently the WI state supreme court is a 4-3 conservative majority, but if liberals win the election it will flip and they could strike down the abortion law, the horrific wi gerrymandering, etc. most expensive supreme court race in history. janet protasiewicz and everett mitchell are the liberal candidates. jennifer dorow and daniel kelly are the conservative candidates. the top two move on to the general election in april. you may remember jennifer dorow from the darrell brooks trial (waukesha parade perpetrator). she became a bit of a media darling after that. she did do a good job in that trial but she is very very conservative. right now about half of the votes are in and the liberal candidates combined have around 55% of the vote. if you are a liberal leaning person in WI, it is looking like a good night for you. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/02/21/us/elections/results-wisconsin-supreme-court.html |

Thanks for posting. Do you think the SC abortion decision has a lot to do with how this race is going? |
Yes, of course. |

So, Wisconsin Republicans appear to be moving through to the state Supreme Court runoff a former justice who lost his seat by 10 points in 2020, and was recently revealed to have been in touch with those conspiring to reverse the 2020 presidential election.

Yep. This is such a critical race. It is the only way to unlock the state from the Koch Lock.
Undo gerrymandering, provide freedom to women to control their bodies and ensure people can vote freely ad safely. |
It’s the first big night of special elections this year and Democrats are doing very well: Liberal WI Supreme Court candidates >50% total In NH, D outrunning 2022 by 3pts A KY state senate seat that was Biden+30 is >D+50 Dems on track to win in VA-04 (Biden+36) by 45pts https://twitter.com/gelliottmorris/status/1628204789602344962?s=20 |
| Very glad Dan Kelly won. He is an awful candidate. It's not over 'til it's over, obviously, but it's looking good for the Dems. |
Yup, that New Hampshire state house district had to have a special election because the race in November ended in a tie, and the Democrat ran away with it this time by ten. Same candidates. |
|
Oh, yeah. That's a big one too. Due to gerrymandering, right now Dems would have to win somehting like 65% of the vote statewide to get in the majority in the state house and senate. So even though they have a Dem governor, the legislature is overwhelmingly Republican because the maps are so bad. It sucks. |
Are you OK when Democrats do the gerrymandering, like in NY, Ill, MD, and Calif? |
