Oh, yeah. That's a big one too. Due to gerrymandering, right now Dems would have to win somehting like 65% of the vote statewide to get in the majority in the state house and senate. So even though they have a Dem governor, the legislature is overwhelmingly Republican because the maps are so bad. It sucks.
Are you OK when Democrats do the gerrymandering, like in NY, Ill, MD, and Calif?
California has an independent commission, as do blue states like Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Just those three and California could have Gerrymandered the House to the Dems, but didn't. NY, a GOP infuenced court, basically gerrymandered extra red seats out of NY, otherwise, that would have been 3 more blue seats in the 2022 cycle. Yes, Illinois and Maryland are gerrymandered. Now lets talk about NC, SC, GA, FL, MS, AL, AK, TN, OH, LA, IN, WI, IA, NE, TX, OK and MT. Why is it the GOP ALWAYS votes against voting reform bills that include anti-gerrymandering rules and then people like you come back to "but MD" and "but IL" - every.single.time.
