There is no public record of Joftus' interview. The public wasn't able to watch that interview. Explain again how there was "public" vetting of this secret? Tue, November 30 10:00 AM District 3 Candidate Interviews List of Interviewees *Meeting not televised |
Yes, the public was able to watch the interview, because I, a member of the public, watched all of them. Perhaps the links aren't up anymore, but at the time of the interviews last fall, they were made public. |
My problem here isn’t so much with Joftus but MCPS spending federal Covid money on stuff like this when there are so many pressing needs. The bocce ball sets are a drop in the bucket compared to this. I don’t really understand the people at MCPS who make these terrible decisions- are they corrupt or just so lazy and unimaginative to come up with better ways to spend the money? |
There were never any links. They weren't public. There was only limited seating in the room and that filled and there was no other access. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdU08EUmGi1KyJHhQR_2k91s-swJ7d071RJ8-wAwxM9hh5KwQ/closedform |
Wrong. I watched them from my laptop. |
In your imagination. Where's the link you supposedly watched? |

Here’s Caitlyn’s article at the time. It appears that they eliminated a number of candidates in a closed session prior to the round of 8 interviews. It is unclear if these interviews were broadcast publicly or not. They were in an open session because Caitlynn was in the room, but unclear if anyone outside the room could tune in. |
Gonna miss Caitlynn. |
I thought purchasing bocce equipment was inspired to ensure that all children can participate in physical education and an excellent use of funds. |
It's a 501c3. They file publicly. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/display_990/454070908/download990pdf_03_2022_prefixes_43-47%2F454070908_202006_990_2022032319804564 Joftus' wife got $64K in salary in 2020 (latest year I could find) to run the place. That's less than a moderately qualified teacher in MCPS gets. |
And she should be paid out of MCPS Operating Budget funds INSTEAD of a teacher in a MCPS classroom because why? |
MCPS pays Kid Museum for services rendered. They're a vendor. |
What services? Vendor of what? Looking forward to your posting of the contract, invoices and payments. |
Because the Super and Board of Ed has deemed it a worthy organization to partner with for the education of kids in MoCo. That started well before Joftus joined them. |
