NP. You are wrong. Taiwan (or the Republic of China to use their own language) is not an independent sovereign nation. Just because they say they are doesn’t matter. The US and the vast majority of nations that matter do not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation. The US recognizes Beijing as the sole leader of China. |
Nope. "The United States acknowledges that Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China." The US does not say Beijing rules Taiwan. The Republic of China predates the so-called People's Republic by decades and is a sovereign nation. |
You are uncompelling. The Central Propaganda Bureau has been notified and will stop paying you. You will be replaced with a different propagandist per orders from Beijing. Have a nice day. |
The US still doesn’t recognize Taiwan (or the RoC). |
This is true but the US not recognizing a nation state and that nation state not existing are two different things. Unless you think that the US is final arbiter of all such decisions. I doubt you think that. |
| No, it seems to be that the PRC is |
|
This is such a massively idiotic and completely unforced error.
Who actually supports what Pelosi is doing here? Not the Ds. Not the Rs. Not the Taiwanese. The only faction that seems to be gaining from this spectacle is PRC. Consider that for a bit. |
Maybe in Russia. In the USA, we use POTUS. |
Exactly |
The UN agrees Taiwan is not an independent country. |
That's funny, because Taiwan has been an independent country for longer than you've been alive. |
| Chinese Communist trolls on overdrive today. |
Why do I need.a visa to enter China but not Taiwan? |
The UN takes that stance because China has a seat on the Security Council. If it were put to a vote, Taiwan would be in. Why does China have a seat on the Security Council? Because a seat was given to the Republic of China and the communist goons managed to take it when they took over the mainland. |

Taiwan’s independence or lack thereof is entirely beside the point.
Clearly there have been decades of wordsmithing and position taking and formalities intended to ensure that the question both has no answer AND each side can credibly claim that it does. The problem is here comes a demonstrably senile member or Congress elected by a few hundred thousand people in California to jeopardize that stability with no support from anywhere. Not the President or State (run by her own party), not the traditional China hawks, not DoD or the Pentagon. WTF is she doing? Guess what Ds, just because it’s Pelosi doesn’t mean you have to just nod along and dissemble. This is a potentially catastrophic mistake. Even if it doesn’t result in direct military conflict, what does it achieve? An 80 year old lady visits Taiwan under some ridiculous “refueling” ruse and then what? PRC relinquishes it’s claim on Taiwan? Just an absolute nitwit. |
