Until the US moves to an income based system for traffic enforcement, which is very unlikely, traffic enforcement will always be regressive and unfair, but it doesn't mean it is unjust. Don't want to get a speeding ticket? Then don't speed. |
DC's next AG should file suit against MD and VA to get them to pay plus damages and expenses for the past 20 years of traffic fatalities caused by out-of-state drivers from MD and VA if those states won't go after their violators. How can we make that happen? |
That was satire. |
“ Born in Greenwich, Connecticut, Pinto is the daughter of James Pinto, a private equity investor who heads MVC Capital.” How in the world does she not pay her tickets and in what world is a personalized plate wise? |
| Interesting that this topic generates so much racism that it requires moderation to delete the most extremely racist posts. If you hate Black people do much, maybe you shouldn’t live in DC? Boise is 90% white, you might be more comfortable there. |
| I used to speed in my youth but for the life of me I do not comprehend adults who still do it, especially adults with kids in the car. It doesn't really get you anywhere any faster, it just wastes gas (or EV power), increases wear and tear on the car, and stresses you out. Everyone just needs to relax and go exactly the speed limit. I actually laugh when maniac yuppies are behind me furious that I'm going exactly the speed limit. |
If people don’t want a speeding ticket, then don’t speed. It’s that simple, folks! |
It also cracks me up when some aggressive, entitled BMW-driving a-hole is whipping from lane to lane trying to pass people and cut them off, only to have me keep catching up to him at the very next red light without any of the effort. |
just say you did not bother to read the report. An audit analysis found the same proportion o accidents/fatalities in white and black neighborhoods in the city. |
What's your source? More made up BS pulled from the crack of your arse. |
I read the report. I then got the comprehensive crash data from DDOT. From 2016 through mid July 2022, 44% of fatal accidents occurred in Wards 7 and 8. Just 22% of DC’s population lives in Wards 7 and 8. Fatal accidents almost always are caused by excessive speed and so the places with the most fatal accidents should receive the most speed cameras. I’m not sure why you would have a problem with that. |
Here’s the source, ya tosser: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/a2f1cca5159e4c6eae197895d2e08336 |
DP but what is this link supposed to demonstrate exactly? |
It’s the DC crash data. It shows that fatal accidents are much higher EOTR than in the rest of the city. |

Tldr
Another woke criminal justice reform policy in action. I feel less safe allowing fast azz drivers to basically speed with impunity, but I’m glad we can virtue signal on this and the city council can pay itself on the back for equity or whatever the fk this is. Next up is taking the age for the youth rehab act to cover up to 45, letting go of 90% of police officers (defund!) and letting shoplifting happen because it’s only fair. And if you complain about it you are a gentrifying piece of sht who should move to Arlington. This is kind of like how when kids were lighting leaves on fire under peoples cars in his neighborhood, Charles Allen blamed the city for not collecting leaves quickly enough. Don’t worry guys, it’s definitely not stuff like this leads to Republican victories nationwide. |
