It’s also just true that more speed cameras are placed in Black neighborhoods which results in Black people who have the least ability to pay disproportionately getting the most camera tickets.

I read the report. I then got the comprehensive crash data from DDOT. From 2016 through mid July 2022, 44% of fatal accidents occurred in Wards 7 and 8. Just 22% of DC’s population lives in Wards 7 and 8. Fatal accidents almost always are caused by excessive speed and so the places with the most fatal accidents should receive the most speed cameras. I’m not sure why you would have a problem with that.[/quote]
