Do girls (or parents) know they are getting an offer? |
|
My issue with all this is that there is a good chance a better player didn’t make the team because they didn’t do the lessons.
Tryouts should be over several days even a week to make sure the right girls are getting an offer. Having two hours tryouts and charging $50 or whatever for 180 players is misleading and unethical. Period. Do the hard work and evaluate over multiple days. |
But it's not like the lessons were a secret. They were advertised and anyone could attend. If it is something you want, you find a way to gst noticed, whether it is those lessons or healthy baller sessions, but you don't leave it up to a one time tryout with 150 girls and expext to stand out |
But really bad schools from an academic perspective. If you care about your DD going to a well regarded college, MCElite has a better track record than VAMetro. |
|
PP, your statement shows you just don’t understand what it’s all about. It’s about finding the right fit both academically and sport wise for your daughter. So perhaps instead of stating that the schools the metro kids committed are horrible academic and putting teenagers down, maybe you should try the opposite and congratulate them for finding that good home.
You have no clue what the situation is for these kids, so if you have nothing good to say, then don’t say it. |
| After the 22 class at mc elite, they don’t have much at all. Parent of mc elite daughter and just being honest |
Then why take the money from 150 girls and pretend. And I also love the cute “dont wear identifying clothing” and another hoax. You probably won’t believe this but my DD didn’t even try out for Capital. She is on another team. But some friends did. |
It is all about the girls accomplishing what they want to get out of their club lacrosse experience. VA Metros latest commit is to USF. This is a good addition as many expect USF to land top level recruits and be competitive quickly under Coach McCord. Add to this the JMU and Michigan commits. These are good academic and lax schools. |
You sound very disgruntled. I believe that girls who went to clinics but had no prior relationship outside of that were offered spots. I am sorry that it did not work out for your daughter but getting angry that girls didn’t get a fair look seems like a stretch. |
|
There were plenty girls who went to the clinics and weren't offered spots so there is no real correlation. The kids who went to G8 were also at a big disadvantage because they played three hard games Sunday afternoon in New Jersey and then had to turn around less than 24 hours later for a four hour tryout.
Pride wasn't invited to G8 so they had an extra day to recover from their tourney that wrapped on Saturday. Realistically there were only about 10-12 open slots available to the 110 or so not already pre-selected. Gussie pulled in about $10K in tryout fees and based on the format, it certainly seems to open her to criticism this was a money grab. M&D, Skywalkers, and Heros all have multi day tryouts, which yields more accurate evaluations. But renting the field twice and paying the evaluators for another session cuts down on the profit margin. Congrats to the girls who made it and for those who didn't, there are may paths forward besides Capital so stick with it. |
Oh please … If you think Hero’s, Skywalkers, M&D evaluations are fair and open, keep drinking that kool aid. They may have a second day of tryouts, but they, like Capital, know exactly who they want before tryout sessions start. |
| The entire pride team was offered a spot Bc they are the best players. Ha! Money grab for sure. Just like girls making American selects without actually trying out in person. All connected |
Did the entire Pride team get an offer for Capital? Split Blue and Orange? Any of them staying with Pride? |
False. The best pride players were offered spots. |
No |
