Exactly. You can’t just show up at a one day tryout with no prep work. There’s a process. You need to start well before the actual try out. It’s always been this way. True for all players even the best ones. |
Got it. You need to pay the coach for private lessons/clinics to get an offer. Nice deal. |
So you DD got an offer for MC midnight but no CLC orange? |
How does one even get signed up for private lessons? Didn’t know that was an option. |
I hate to say this but if you were serious about getting your daughter on this team you would have done some research. Not trying to be mean but google for goodness sake. |
How did you hear? An email? |
Private lessons have been discussed on this board. Healthy Baller is Gussie's outfit and they offer private and group lessons. |
You are absolutely right there are more sophisticated lacrosse savvy parents than me. My kid works out in our backyard with a high school girl. And there are some circumstances that kept her out of some of the prep sessions - don’t really want to get into the details. I should have realized it was more about my prep than hers, I guess. |
Not sure those are the same poster. |
| anyone else get waitlisted? |
Bingo |
Don't be too sad if you are waitlisted orange. I know of several 25's who actually got orange after being waitlisted. |
Google private lessons with the coach or her friend? Got it. |
| we were given an offer - but yes...the teams were preselected. |
| Just go tryout for va metro tomorrow. Ok I give it to Capital as they have a stronger club, but look at metros recruiting history and success. At the end of the day who cares what club you play for, as long as that student accomplishes their goal and it seems as though metro is the second best club in NOVA based off the recruiting success. Yes, more successful than pride |
