Republicans will get the vote by elimination. I am all for a Black woman on the Supreme Court but can Biden promise that the next vacancy goes to an Asian American? We have minority representation of all kinds on the Supreme Court. What about the Asians? Sri Srinivasan has been supposedly in the running since Obama’s times and has bipartisan support but no - doesn’t check the Democrats’ box. So yes, the Republicans just have to step up in small ways as the Dems are just taking Asian-Americans for granted. |
This Asian woman right here will NEVER vote for another Democrat. I’m done. Used to be a regular Democrat voter, but it is clear that they no longer want my vote. Will find other options. |
Makes sense. I am a Democratic white voter who doesn’t feel like I have a political home these days. I can’t vote for Trump Republicans and their traitorous insurrection, but the Democrats have lost me with their school closures, anti-Asian racism, how they’ve handled some trans issues, destruction of education, and anti-Semitism. I am not sure exactly what to do. If I had been in VA for the last governor election I probably wouldn’t have voted at all. |
| ^^^ PP here. That isn’t an exclusive list of my issues with the Democrats either. I’m just saying the Democrats have lost me. I can’t vote for insurrection supporting traitors either, though. |
The days of the Democrats taking any votes for granted when it comes to school board elections are over, especially in places like Fairfax where the corrupt, incompetent School Board spent months obsessing over admissions to a single high school while ignoring the needs of 97% of the kids. Will be great to see many of them tossed out next year. |
Changing magnet/gifted from merit based to lottery was of the main issues. It was mostly targeting Asian Americans and therefore almost 95% of the population in the affected counties supported the recall. Data is easily available. Please don't victimize the Asian American community. At some point, they are forced to fight back for their children's sake. |
In San Francisco the recall had broad multi-racial support. It was not just a case of the Asian community being the only supporters. I do think that the anti Asian racism on display catalyzed the Asian community, but in the end the recall was very broadly supported. |
Yes. It had broad support for sure. Goes to show fringe elements from both parties that they are on the fringe! |
Actually---a number of these issues have been present in DC---also currently controlled by the progressive extremists:
So you may not can extrapolate all over the country, but these types of policies ARE being pursued nationally by cities where the progressive left is in control. And people do not like it. I wish DC could get rid of its entire Clown Council, but the fact that city governance is controlled via the democratic primary means that the lunatic fringe---just like the right wing nut jobs in red states---can get far more control than they deserve. |
These are all core conservatives/republican issues. Go watch Tucker/hannity. |
I am a Democrat who is not happy with my local school board either but I cannot in any way support the other side-book bans, pro-voucher/charters at the expense of public education, intense fear mongering. The constant posting by right wing folks on these forums has made it so I would definitely never support them. I am hoping that Democrats get a freaking clue and actually put out sensible/pro academics candidates going forward. And that people with common sense run for local School Boards. School board candidates should be non-partisan and not endorsed by any political party. It's crazy that it isn't the case. |
I think I decided I am ok with being a former D, now independent, and the VA school mask vote solidified for me. I'll use my own brain which is better than any party line. |
YES!!! Can we get on board with having the political parties no longer endorse the school board candidates??? I am in FCPS - how can we get that to happen? |
It’s annoying that when recalled, Ms. Collins sued for racism. Racism…it was promptly thrown out, but she was such a vindictive tool. Her racist tweets and incompetence were enough to get her tossed out, but claiming racism is so cliche. |
Yes, you can totally extrapolate this type of uber woke educational policy nationwide. |
