Who would have thought the best player in the area last year would have come out of St. Albans!
Go Dawgs! |
PP here and I agree - its damn funny. |
Justin Shockey from Landon and Trippi from Bullis were higher impact players.
Yale is not in the finals today based solely on Star's stellar play, Yale happens to have the best player in the Nation this year in Reeves |
No-one is saying the team rode there on Starr's coattails. In fact, everyone knows he didn't even start until late in the year. Regardless, neither Shockey nor Trippi are in the championship now are they? And, in fact, if you read what the lax sites are writing about Starr, they are crediting his maturity and strength of character as reasons he is starting now. Qualities encouraged and celebrated at STA over any sports talent. |
Another idiot. Starr started almost every game this year. What are yiu smoking? I know you know zero about lax, but you couldn't be bothered to look it up? |
I’ll start slow and ease into it. Bullis has a ton of talent and will be the team to watch in 2019. With that said, watching them last night someone has to do something about their team mentality and maturity. When they went down to a stronger Salisbury team, the looked like a bunch of spoiled brats. The penalties and close to abusive play wasn’t aggressive, it was unsportsmanlike.
When you play on national TV, you represent the region and as such learn to take the good with the bad. |
VLC's site only lists one college commit for 2019. Either someone is asleep at the update switch, or VLC really has taken a tumble. |
I have no idea how many commits the 2019 team has, but I know that the website is out of date, at least for the 2018 team. Rowlett is now going to Michigan and Scarborough to Air Force. |
There is no denying the talent that this Bullis team possesses, however, the spoiled brat sentiment is spot on. You could see it in the body language of their team and how they behaved in certain situations. If their coach can reel them in and get them to play with a modicum of control and class, then they truly may be deserving of a #1 ranking next year. OTOH, if they continue to be "chippy" and play glorified club ball with a "look at me" or "me first" attitude I predict they will continue to underachieve. |
I’d be happy for my daughter to play lax at any of the final four schools. She’s an A/B student and we don’t have a ton of money. Going to any of those schools a lax athlete would let her play at the highest level and get a decent education. I know because I went to one of them (and have never experienced any shame regarding that school! Only compliments, and see alums in great jobs in my industry) There are believe it or not kids who just want to play at the highest level. Don’t think Taylor Cummings picked MD for academics only. |
To put in context Salisbury had TWENTY TWO seniors on its roster, including many PGs playing against a Bullis team with a few seniors, 5-6 juniors and several Sophs/Freshmen. Salisbury's depth and FOGO (Yale commit who won nearly every draw) were the difference. Bullis outplayed them most of the 1H and then wore out. I saw only one unreleasable penalty by Bullis, so not sure what you are talking about. The prior Culver v Hill game was much more physical by comparison with several unreleasables by both teams. |
Cuver vs Hill had numerous unsportsmanlike calls but the only unsportsmanlike call in Salisbury vs Bullis was against Salisbury, though Bullis did have a couple of Cross-Check calls. I did notice a tired and frustrated Bullis team in the 2nd half, which can be explained by the Salisbury fogo (Yale) who dominated and gave exclusive possession to S'bury. But overall a well played game and won by the better team. |
Save your time trying to help the Bullis families out. It’s like looking at a person with a giant mole on their face, you know like the size of a pencil eraser and you wonder why on earth they haven’t cut that off. They don’t see anything wrong with it and have grown used to it. Same as the Bullis parents. |
What makes you think Bullis will be #1 in the Nation next year. Bullis in the past two season has not fared well at all against the big time programs. They lost to Gonzaga this year, and split the series with Landon. Their rankings are based too much on their Inside Lacrosse / Ty Xanders recruits. They no longer play BL or McDonogh but opt to play St Mary's Ryken now and Delmar and West Chester East. |
Since 2016 Bullis has defeated
Landon, Gonzaga, Boys Latin, McDonogh, Loyola, St Marys, Georgetown Prep To say Bullis has underachieved is ridiculous. |
