It’s not going to happen. It’s just not. Sure, I agree it would be a good thing but it’s not a realistic possibility. When Obama didn’t get gun control laws passed after Sandy Hook (or really do anything else to directly pursue gun control), the idea of scaling back gun ownership died. Look, every country has problems that they can’t get under control. Every single one. This happens to be one of ours. |

Taser? Let's cut the crap here. She didn't use the taser, at all. She shot the kid with a gun.
When the first response of a cop that is meant to protect society is to draw a gun, you know you do not live in a democracy, in a free society, or anything of the sort. You live in an oppressive society that can murder you during a traffic stop. If you are black, change that to will try to murder you during a traffic stop! |
This happens to be one of ours??? LIke that is ok? We just sell guns and kill kids all the time....sure, the Swiss can't get their ordinance that forbids people in multiple housing to flush toilets in the middle of the night, and they are stuck with it for decades! This is just one of our mistakes? Just??? |
It’s not ok but it’s not going to change. That’s the reality. All countries have problems they can’t fix. |
DP. Yep. Actually the cops kill more unarmed white people than black people. But the media don’t highlight those cases because they don’t foment racial division. |

Kim Potter's attorney, Earl Gray, is also the attorney for Thomas Lane, one of the four officers involved in George Floyd's death who faces criminal charges.
Gray was also a defense attorney for Jeronimo Yanez, the former St. Anthony, Minnesota, police officer who was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Philando Castile. |
It is a constitutionally-protected right, like the right to choice, to own a gun. And similar to abortion, it is a woman’s right to choose to protect herself / her children from home invasion, rapists, etc. - it’s especially important now since the police are being defunded. |
its an 18th century anachronism |
And, just like with abortion, the government can and does limit gun rights. |
It's so easy to lie with statistics, isn't it? In 2020, 457 white people were killed by police, compared to 241 black people. So yes - more white people than black. Considering the population of the country, though, that means that black people are MORE THAN THREE TIMES likely to get killed by a cop than a white person. Not great odds. |
I’m sorry, you are just factually incorrect and clearly know nothing about policing. |
You have to factor in the crime rates of black people versus white people. Study after study has shown that black Americans are more likely to commit violent crime than white Americans. Black people are therefore more likely to interact with police. |
Change the word "white" to "black" and run the numbers, rocket scientist. |
So by your definition all non black people are inherently racist in everything they do when involving a black person because,”society”. Now that’s dumb. |
Hence, similarly to abortion right being take away from women all over the country, we should just deny people the right to have guns. What's good for abortion is good for guns, no? |
