Here's the thing - and I'm not trying to be difficult here - but the police show up in my neighborhood after someone has been killed. If I felt the police were actually protecting people from being killed, that would be something to consider. But coming after the fact doesn't really help all that much.

I don’t think you are being difficult - totally agree. I don’t know a whole lot about living in a low income neighborhood of color but I do know enough to know that their lives and the choices that they face are worlds away from my experience and thus I try not to judge too harshly. I believe that we are more products of our environment than naturally virtuous.

Right, the bitter irony is that they claim to fear cops the most when in fact they are multitudes much more likely to be killed by someone who looks just like them. And cops are out there putting their lives on the line to protect them from those people.
