Man asked woman to leash her dog in a public park -- she called the police on him

How many black men are in jail right now because of a privileged white woman's lies?

She pretty much tried to give this man the Emmett Till treatment.

Karens come in all colors

Not a NP because I posted about 12 pages ago, but the "Karen" meme absolutely refers to a white woman. It's a stereotype.

Irony is, HE was displaying "Karen" behavior by trying to police another adult. You don't do that.

It's policing someone's behavior to draw their attention to posted rules they are breaking?

That's just being part of a community.

Sure. Once. Continuing to harass them if they choose to ignore those rules is an act of policing. And it deliberately escalates a confrontation. She was absolutely wrong, but he didn't exactly behave well, either. The only innocent party in this is the dog.

I'm not sure why you are certain he was harassing her (and even "continuing to harass her") before she overreacted and he turned on the cell camera? The conversation he recounts doesn't sound like harassment, and she isn't claiming now that he did.

In the eyes of many white people:

If a black man speaks to a white woman he doesn't know, that's per se harassment.

Agreed. Amongst other things, her company should be able to see that she also has an integrity problem. Not only because she's racist, but also because of the extent she will go to bring another down. She has some major character flaws that undoubtedly extend beyond what we witnessed. She fights dirty even when it's not called for.

Yep. Someone needs to go post this on Reddit if it's not already up.

And now we Have this viral Social media storm which does nothing except invite us divide a fractured country during a pandemic we are being destroyed in every single way and a stupid little incident in a park is what we are focused on

Actually some of us have been focused on racism in this divided country for all of our lives. Fortunately, in the age of cell phones with video recording capabilities, it has become a little bit more difficult for a “stupid little incident” — where the police are weaponized by people who benefit from racism — to go unchallenged.

+10000000

(And all other men too (thinking sexual harassment). She turned on the tears real quick. "Always believe the victim" is bs.)

Her public humiliation will never be lived down which is a good thing. But I would not like to have someone videoing me. But, if he started to after she got uppity about leashing her dog then it’s his right.

If he’s shot while jogging, then it becomes all about what he was wearing at the time or what he was doing in that part of the neighborhood, etc. If he is birdwatching, the focus then becomes why was he so close to a dog owner and why couldn’t he move away from her and why does he want all this media attention. It always turns into a huge victim-blaming fest.

This.

Also note that she was using his skin color as a way to emphasize the importance of the police coming to help her. She also nearly strangled her dog. But what you are missing is that he also bears some blame, was threatening her, illegally videotaped her, then tried to destroy her by posting it on Facebook.

Her actions could’ve killed this man. Please.

All she had to do was leash her dog or leave the area where unleashed dogs are illegal. In fact, when did just that, he stopped videotaping and even thanked her. She could have done that without arguing with him and making a false police report and lying about what he was doing.

If you don't want to be videotaped, then don't do something that is socially shameful.

Did you watch the video? Idk about you, but if someone threatens to kill me, I don't walk up to them as they ask me to back up, running my mouth and wagging my finger all the while.

I like your use of "uppity". I see what you did there

She will also go out of her way to prove she isn't racist by finding some black friend props.
