Some people in the twitter thread were questioning her treatment of the dog beyond this incident. She has apparently posted a variety of the dog’s injuries on Instagram. Near drowning, dog attack, loss of a claw... |
Both were nuts. He was threatening her by videoing her for no reason. That dog wasn't bothering anyone and I'm scared of dogs. There was no reason for him to approach her and video it so he was setting up the situation and zero respect for him. She handled it very badly but has a right to feel threatened by recording her. |
This is what doesn’t make any sense to me. |
Recording someone is not a threat. Maybe just a threat when a black man does it? |
He was setting her up for this to happen and wanted his 5 minutes of fame which he got. There was no reason to record her. There was no reason to provoke her. She may have been raped or attacked in the past which caused her to panic. Both were wrong. |
Really - that is your takeaway? |
She wasn’t too afraid of the virus, or the guy who was supposedly threatening her, to approach him at a close distance. No doubt she’s unhinged, but her concern seemed to be with his filming her rather than anything else. |
UMM no. Her dog walker confirmed he walked the same dog for her TWO YEARS AGO. Mental breakdown my butt. She deliberated decided to off-leash her dog in Central Park and when called on it - decided to both harass that person and get the police to do the same. |
No. She picked up the phone to call the cops about a black man threatening her instead of putting on the leash and walking away. |
Recording someone isn't provocation or threatening. And he didn't post the recording - so what 5 minutes of fame? Just admit she was wrong and tried to get a bird watcher shot by the police for asking her to politely LEASH HER DOG. |
She wasn't near anyone in an open area. He pulled out his phone to yell at her and provke a reaction that he could post on social media. |
Yes, it is provoking and setting someone up by recording them. You don't record people without permission. |
You have to leash your dog. I’ve asked people to do this a couple times in the past when I was walking with a toddler. The man was well within his right to tell her.
She’s a vile excuse for a human. I feel bad for that poor dog. |
He was recording her and harassing her. |
In a public space, you absolutely can film anyone without their permission. |
