Shows me we Democrats have some work to do.

Dems need just one decent leader to emerge and all the stain left on the party by the Biden debacle will be removed and forgotten. It won't take much to pass the GOP in the popularity ratings considering the pace Trump is losing support.

I think people are underestimating how deeply unpopular Democrats have become in recent years. This isn't simply Biden's fault. It's local progressive Democrats in counties, school boards, city councils and so on. Democrats could run a mainstream presidential candidate, but all across the ballot candidates like Charles Allen - to use an example - will continue to repel normal people from voting for Democrats. The DC Council is all progressives. Absolutely no one wants that. But that is what the Democratic brand is in most communities.

No people want someone to stand up to Trump and people like you. The democrats keep attacking and pushing aside progressive and they push this Israel first mentality. This is why they are unpopular and struggle to beat a losers like Trump. Why vote democrat if it is just the same sh#t you and Trump push down everyone’s throat. People want a choice

You are clearly very liberal, and your friends and social circles likely agree with you. It's not what the typical working American citizen wants. Hence, the recent election results. (I voted for Harris with reservations. Can't stand Trump.)

The typical working American wanted things like cheaper groceries, better wages, lower rent and to be able to afford to buy a house. Instead they got the Gulf of America, war on windmills, abandoning NATO and our global alliances, tariffs and trade wars that are going to make things more expensive, attacks on Social Security and Medicare, and a crashing stock market that's eating away 401k savings.

Trump is NOT delivering on what they voted for.

PP here. I don't disagree with you, but you're also leaving out a biggie...illegal immigration. Democrats should have addressed it strongly.

Nothing, absolutely nothing can justify voting for a convicted criminal, someone who had a complete dereliction of duty with the way he handled a pandemic, and not accepting the results of a free and fair election and inciting a riot to cause an insurrection.

Not the PP, but this is what I take issue with. The Dems were royally f-ing things up, but still expected me to vote for them because “Trump is a criminal!” They didn’t listen. They didn’t do anything to handle the major problems. I was supposed to ignore all their failures, and vote for Harris because our country was in mortal danger.

I’m tired of being expected to vote for them with a gun to my head. I really wish other Dems would wake up to this reality.

So integrity doesn't matter to you? Criminals and rapists don't matter to you? So long as you can throw your temper tantrum? Hon, that says WAY MORE about you than it does about the DNC.

And in terms of "major problems", deportations were up, our inflation was trending down and better than most other countries, Biden passed the CHIPS act, he was forgiving student loans, Kamala wanted to help with housing costs and had a plan for price gouging, Kamala would have supported non-fascist judges and cabinet members. Biden and Kamala did plenty with a divided Congress. Biden and Kamal had concrete plans to help the ordinary American. But you stuck your fingers in your ears and sang "la, la, la" like a child.

Again, you're entitled to your beliefs, however ignorant they are. But rest assured, they ARE ignorant and uninformed. And you're little more than a petulant child. I hope you're happy with the fascist state you've allowed to take hold.

It’s not my fault that Dems couldn’t get out of their own way to pass any meaningful immigration reform, and that they didn’t listen to voters.

I am most certainly not ignorant or uninformed. I am never going yo vote for Trump or Trumpy politicians. If Dems don’t get it together, I’m never voting for them again.

They had a bi-partisan bill that was written by the most conservative senator on the issue and it had 80% of what the GOP wanted and Trump killed it. It needed 60 votes. Why wouldn't ten GOP senators vote for it?

They ignored the problem for 2 years. That was too little too late. They could have come up with an actual plan and engaged in leadership. It’s not like voters didn’t make their opinions known.

Let me get this straight- they killed the bipartisan solution because it was too late? That’s like burning your house down because it got too messy. No, they thought it was better for them to keep the problem alive so they could juice their base, who don’t have much between their ears and never leave their Fox bubble long enough to form an independent thought. And it was very effective, wasn’t it? Because you’re still on here saying it’s better to have chaos and a legal system in shambles. Pathetic.

The bi-partisan bill you are referring to was more of a band-aid bill than a long term solution but it absolutely shouldn't have failed for the political reason that it did. That bill was on the table at least two years too late due to political games on one side of the aisle and it failed due to political games on the other side of the aisle. Disgraceful from every angle!

I am going to call this out.

There have been at least 4 times that a Dem president offered to sign a border reform bill that the GOP tanked it. Facts matter - ever since Reagan, the GOP has created and fomented immigration as a wedge issue and it has kept the party in power for decades without ANY meaningful reform in the intervening 40 years.

Americans overall disapprove of everything Trump is doing by a landslide, except immigration.

A substantial contingent of Americans are willing to accept Trump driving the economy and the Federal government overall in the wrong direction (in their view) in exchange for putting the screws to immigrants.

Same as with abortion.
The bast majority of Republicans are Protestant, and opposed Kennedy for being Catholic, but Republican leaders started the American Protestant anti-abortion movement to manipulate non-thinking Christians.

Can you give three specific policies that were not popular?

Under Biden we were fixing infrastructure and building chip factories. We were adding jobs.

Under Trump my investments have dropped more than $39k in two weeks and I haven’t even looked at real estate equity. It will drop like a stone if people are afraid to spend money due to the threat of losing a job. Trump has wiped out all the gains I had in the last 14 months.

Egg prices are rapidly falling, per CNBC:
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/03/13/egg-prices-are-rapidly-falling-so-far-in-march.html

Trump’s approval ratings are near his all time highs; 44 percent of voters think the country is on the right track, the highest since 2004; and Dem approval ratings are tanking, per a recent NBC poll:
https://www.axios.com/2025/03/16/trump-high-dems-low-new-poll

There are a lot of people out there who don’t have $39,000 in home equity + savings and would feel like they won the lottery to be in your economic situation. I’d say based on your $39,000 portfolio drop, you are in the top 5% of Americans. Well, the entire country is not like you at all and they have different priorities.

To lose their veterans benefits? To have higher inflation? To let their kid have hearing loss due to measles or cancer because of pfas in the water? To lose their home because FEMA is extinct?

These is all scare mongering hyperbole. I’m not going to waste time refuting every assertion, but inflation is the easiest one to correct.

February inflation rate lower than expected per CNBC (not Fox News): https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/03/12/cpi-inflation-report-february-2025.html

If anything, the tariffs are going to reduce consumer spending, which will reduce inflation and cause the Fed to lower rates faster than expected, which will send stocks soaring.

If you listen to the idiots on WMAL, no POTUS has had higher approval ratings than Trump right now. It reminds me of when Saddam Hussein was hiding in some underground tunnel (and his two sons were already blown to
Pieces) and his public affairs chief was telling the Iraqi populace that they were winning the war

Yup, and this is just one of many wedge issues our amazing major political parties have left unresolved for decades in order to further divide the American people!

Who would have thought raising rates from 2.5 percent to 7+ percent would raise real estate prices through the roof.

Maybe tariff’s will work

Lower rates are inevitable once the recession kicks in and lower rates will keep the housing market and much of the financial markets from tanking. Our country and Trump are lucky we are in a position where significantly lower rates are possible if poop hits the fan.

Pathetic.

That is absolutely not what I’m saying.

You don’t care about what I’m saying, which is the problem.

Well what ARE you saying? Think before responding.

When no one can afford anything, stocks won't soar.

Lower rates are inevitable once the recession kicks in and lower rates will keep the housing market and much of the financial markets from tanking. Our country and Trump are lucky we are in a position where significantly lower rates are possible if poop hits the fan.

Things are going to have to get very, very bad to make housing affordable again. Lower rates has just meant higher prices for the last, I don’t know, 15 years.

Lol... preventing the housing market from tanking has little to do with making housing affordable again... preventing the housing market from tanking means maintaining current equity positions and preventing an onslaught of loan defaults.

What happens when people can’t afford cars due to tariffs?
