For the Dockworkers, yes.

Base hourly pay will be $63. Great deal for dockworkers and soon no doubt all other unions who will follow suit
They deserve it and Democrats will always stand up for American workers.

Wait, I thought the Democrats hated blue collar workers and never did anything for them or unions?

Private negotiation between dock workers and private company. Biden/Harris promised not to get involved?

Outside of doing nothing, what congratulating do they deserve? Please explain.

It kinda like I deserve credit today as the Sun finally came out!

Uhhhggg!!!

People were panic buying for no reason. And...any empty shelves currently are not because of this (now suspended) strike.

People were “panic buying” because of the hurricane aftermath, either because they needed supplies or were buying to donate. My parents live 3 hours East of Asheville. They went to Costco to buy water, toilet paper, etc for hurricane relief and found empty shelves in these areas— and a huge line of people paying for these things and dropping them at the tractor-trailer headed to WNC in Costco’s parking lot.

You really think we import most of our gas, water and toilet paper?

Good news!
MAGA will be disappointed. Just like they’ve been hoping for a recession for the last three years.

NBC just reported that the strike is now suspended until January. Good job President Biden!

I went to the grocery store today and the toilet paper shelves were bare. Do people not know from the Trump Covid shortage that TP is made in the USA?

People have been buying to donate to Hurricane relief. Not because they think China makes our TP. I mean, maybe MAGA does. The idiocy is strong with them. But, I know a dozen people buying water, batteries, TP, etc for the hurricane areas— and zero people concerned the US was going to run out of TP.

Deal was 63% salary increase. All other issues are to still need to be negotiated. They ar wonky working until 1/15/25 in this extension of their contract. It’s not a done deal. The strike is only suspended until then.

I wonder what the payoff was to get them to stop protesting before the election and wait until after? I’m sure they were bought off to keep quiet.

Biden AND Harris win!

America and Biden win. Trump and MAGA lose!

Harris and Biden could have been on the moon and this would have ended the same way. Biden said he would not intervene.

It was pure media pressure in the dock workers and leader. They did not get the sympathy they wanted and were facing backlash.

It’s that simple.

Maybe, maybe not. But it would not have ended so quickly. Biden put pressure on the employers and reminded them of the astronomical profits they made during and after covid. He refused to enact the Taft-Hartley Act which would have forced the longshoremen to leave the picket lines and go back to work. So yeah, Biden did do something. It's a pity that he isn't a narcissist like the TFG and tweet about every little thing accomplished.

Trump would have said to fire them all and then claimed he was creating new blue collar jobs.

Just received an email from the Maryland Dept of Health asking medical practitioners to conserve IV fluids. There are shortages due to the strikes and also a major production plant in Marion, NC has been closed down due to hurricane damage. Scary stuff.

The strike is over. If there are shortages, it is because of the hurricane. I suppose some will blame the Jews and space lasers for that.
