How the Dems bungled into ww3 with nobody volunteering to the military takes the cake. The hyperinflation and fast food becoming a luxury item is just in its infancy.

Because doc workers and their leaders are all democrat? I don't think so.

Gee I distinctly recall MAGA DCUMers cheering and gloating about how the Dems have lost the unions since the Teamsters heads endorsed Trump.

So if the dockworkers go on strike in January that is ENTIRELY Trump's own problem - HIS OWN supporters protesting HIS administration.

Every white dockworker I know is MAGA. Good luck with that, cause I bet the GOP will call out the national guard to put down the strike.

Private negotiation between dock workers and private company. Biden/Harris promised not to get involved?

Outside of doing nothing, what congratulating do they deserve? Please explain.

It kinda like I deserve credit today as the Sun finally came out!

Here you go! Lengthy article explaining how the WH, Biden, and his Secretary of Labor and Transportation all played key roles in the negotiation. I'm looking forward to your detailed response.

Biden administration Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su was an important administration liaison working with both the union and port ownership group to reach a deal at meetings held in New Jersey on Thursday, according to a source familiar with the talks.

“The collective bargaining process really worked,” said Su in an interview. “We’ve been saying it all along. When workers have a real voice at the table and when they can help to determine the conditions of their jobs, we’re seeing really historic gains for working people, and we’re also seeing it because we have such a strong economy. ... Companies that are making record profits are realizing that when they do right by their workers, it’s better not just for working people, it’s better for their industries, it’s better for their future.”

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg— “the parties were not as far apart as it sounded on economics. There were strong positions, strong personalities, but there was a deal space.” He added that Hurricane Helene played a role in moving closer to a deal. “That’s one thing that I emphasized when I was talking to the ocean carriers, urging them to get to a deal. You know, the last thing that emergency responders need is to be looking over their shoulder, wondering if they’re going to be impacted by a strike.”

President Biden had said on camera Wednesday, “The last thing we need on top of that is a manmade disaster — what’s going on at the ports.”

Here’s another potentially inflationary issue that Trump will have to deal with. The strike was put off until January.

He will send the troop is to shot and kill them. Maga will cheer.

Ok, that would just be another variation of what Dems here wanted Biden to back in September/October. Did y’all forget that already?

Most of you wanted Joe to fire ALL of the striking workers IMMEDIATELY, and get the ports running again RIGHT NOW! There was an election and an economy at stake! And these overpaid union goons were going to blow the election for Dems!

Remember that? I sure do.

But now I see DCUM has swung back to the side of the unions again, now that Trump is coming back.

Y’all are so predictable and so stupid.

You sound pretty defensive. January isn’t far away. Let’s see how this goes.

Defensive of who?

Just because I dislike many of you doesn’t automatically mean I’m a Trump simp. It’s entirely possible to hate BOTH of you.

Yeah, and it's going to be much different after January the 20th. Instead of firing the dockworkers on strike, they will be fired on by the goons sent to put down the strike.

Management needs to be reasonable here.

After all, the bargaining unit is only seeking a 75% pay increase.

Here’s a few hot-takes from various self identified Dems from months ago, back when the union was still the bad guy.

“Unions have no business meddling in politics. This amounts to election interference, trying to destroy the economy a month before the election. They need to be in prison.”

“They don’t NEED to mention politics, idiot. The implication is crystal clear. The union is trying to time the strike so it does maximum damage to Kamala Harris. They are basically trying to destroy the economy right before the election. They are literally in-league with trump and putin.”

“It is clear now that the head of this union is a Trump supporter and has not been negotiating in good faith and wants this work stoppage to make Biden look bad.”

“Boooo hoooo. Cry harder. Sounds like a bunch of Trump gibberish.

Ports are national security facilities. Biden needs to fire every damn one of them who walked out, and replace them ALL with nonunion workers. Immigrants, preferably, just for the extra F-you factor.

These people are economic terrorists trying to destroy the economy before an election. They need to be locked in prison the rest of their life.”

“Replace them with immigrants. We need to give new Americans a boost.”

“Trump has the unions in his pocket doing his bidding. This is election interference.

I swear, Kamala needs to issue an executive order outlawing unions.”

“Because they’re morons who can’t do regular careers because they dropped out of school and became dead-enders. Uneducated blue collar morons who never made anything of themselves but are now trying to overthrow an election by destroying the economy.

Basically it’s another J6 attempt. Same type people though. Thugs.”

“Someone needs to disappear this union president, ala Jimmy Hoffa. This mfr needs to die”

“Bull crap!

Try having the garbage man doing doc review on a $1.2B acquisition. He probably couldn’t even read the cover sheet.

Stop with the trumpian working class hero tripe, it doesn’t sell here. We’re too smart to be swayed by that maga crap.“

So ^^^^ this ^^^^ was DCUM from early October.

Now after the election, DCUM is suddenly back to being pro-union again, and cares about the plight of the port workers.

This is like watching leopards change their spots in real-time.

Eh, we knew most dockworkers were MAGAs then and we know they are mostly MAGAs now. They get what they get, hope it works out for them.

So then you’re in favor of a port strike now, because it will hurt Trump. But you were against a port strike two months ago, because it would hurt Kamala.

What’s so hard about being honest enough to just say it?

The contrast is more that Biden and his team have the patience to bring everyone together and listen and coax. Expectations for Trump to do the same are low. Biden cares about the working class and unions; Trump is on the side of management.

Nothing to do with what the “correct” solution is though my uneducated take is that automation is on the horizon and the union is not going to be able to prevent that forever.

Not for or against anything. The electorate voted and wanted all this. What happens happens.

This movie was written by someone who was prosecuted by Joseph McCarthy. Now the type of worker that this film is lionizing is most likely MAGA according to this forum. Think about when you wonder why Dems are lost in the wilderness and lost the popular vote to the deranged orange man child.
