I think there are a lot of folks who would like to see certain fit men in thongs

They should. But not at children's pools.

It was a community pool, so not an issue.

That's a children's pool. Keep adult activities in your private pools.

Is it a public pool? Adults are part of the public.

So? In your estimation, anywhere adults are allowed should be used for adults to perform sexual acts?

Sorry, lady, that’s not right.

I don't see anyone performing public sex acts at pools. In fact, public sex acts are illegal.

Right, there are laws against public sex and pools have dress codes.

People in this thread want to reverse that. Why? I don't know.

I tihnk you are confusing wearing a swimsuit with sex acts. You might want to examine your life.

I'm all for swimsuits, but I draw lines at people wearing things that are designed purely to draw sexual attention who perform theatrics at a pool filled with children, trying to get the attention of potential love interests, or filming instagram or OnlyFans videos.

Oh no, people flirting at pools! There ought to be a law!

There's flirting and then there's showing your erection and twerking in a thong.

Have you seen these activities or do you just suspect that they are happening?

Basically, yes.

Teens in thongs filming Instagram thirst trap content. It’s why we have dress codes and rules of conduct.

For some reason a lot of people believe that asking people to be courteous and wear something comfortable but not erotic so that children don’t have to be forced to watch some 19yo undress and try to achieve Instagram fame is a real burden.

So no men with erections?

I think it’s wrong to display an erection at a children’s pool but the anti dress code crowd seems to feel it’s VERY important they be allowed to display one to families in public.

Kinda makes you question their motivations…

First, you will need to find a children's pool. No, a pool with children in it doesn't make it children's pool. By that logic, every restaurant is a Chucky Cheese.
.

Yes, but Chucky Cheesees are also notoriously anti-erection.

I haven't seen any inappropriately dressed people in Chucky Cheese so it seems like the general public knows how to dress and behave without the moral majority running around with their 35% rules.

If you wouldn’t do it in a chucky cheese don’t do it at your community pool.

Agreed?

It wasn't a problem at all and no one would have thought to complain about a thong. I never heard anyone accuse the European tourists of "displaying an erection" because they wore a speedo. Must not be any Germans at your pools since they seem to believe in swimming nude and find Miami to be conservative.

Do you understand that the greater Washington, DC metro area is neither Miami nor Europe?

Do you also approve of the many European tourists who insist upon wearing bikinis (for example) on the beaches of Dubai?

Bikinis are 100% allowed on the beaches of Dubai. Have you ever been? They don't expect tourists to conform to their religious or cultural rules of modesty unless you are visiting a mosque.

This is America. Not Miami. And not Europe.

We don’t like bare breasts and ball sacks on display at the community pool. We also don’t like public fornication or democratic socialism. We don’t like men going to the office without an undershirt so they’ve got visible nipples and chest hair.

We do enjoy a wholesome game of Marco Polo, fireworks in the summertime, deodorant, ice cubes, and winning wars.

Conduct yourself accordingly or I’m calling the cops (which we also enjoy).

What a bizarre troll. Why are you bringing your politics and war-mongering into a swim wear thread?

DP but it’s all related. What is acceptable and not acceptable is cultural.

Our local culture rejects using children’s pools for public sex.

People expressed concern about thongs. All these weirdos insisted it was insane to worry about thongs, that there is literally nothing prurient about them - people pointed out young women making thirst trap videos, men displaying erections etc - CLEARLY overtly sexual behavior. And so the discussion became, what IS inappropriate? There must be a bottom, if it’s not thongs, what is it? Is it public sex?

Tell us what the line is if it’s not things…

there is so much poo and pee in those pools.

Why would that standard apply? No one swims in a pool fully dressed. People are wearing appropriate clothing at both locations.

My community pool dress code is that you have to wear a swimsuit. No street clothes, can’t be naked. Babies have to wear swim diapers. No listed restrictions on the type of swimsuit so thongs would be fine. I’ve never been offended on my own or my children’s behalf by anything I’ve seen at the pool.

In my opinion, as long as you are dressed within/following the law it's fine. If men and women are allowed to be topless, I'm fine with that. If men or women want to wear thongs, I'm fine with that. If people are having sex at the pool, that has nothing to do with what they are wearing, and would be illegal, and that's not ok.

Where are men wearing thongs in the DMV? That’s not a thing - hopefully.
