If things get worse for Jewish people

Anonymous

In my opinion Jewish people need to take 100 percent advantage of gun rights. I’m not Jewish but the swiftness of widespread antisemitism is eye opening. Get trained and proficient, organize and plan together on military tactics and ruthless defense of yourselves. Being lazy, naive and defenseless is a very poor strategy. Your own blood will respond quicker than police and the reputation that your people have organized and armed backup will keep you much safer. If you have to move to a red state for greater firepower then do so.

The hostage pictures are stupid in the first place and are just marketing

The hostages aren’t in Philly! So why put them up in Philly?

I’ve never understood the hostage flyers

You don’t have to understand it. But don’t tear them down.

No, they clearly are not meant to “help find this kid” since the kid isn’t in Philly

So I could care less if they are torn down or not. They clearly have ulterior motives - these aren’t milk carton advertisements

I’m all for putting up flyers if these abductees are here

A poster that says “From the River to the Sea” in what you weirdly call “Philly”—is “Palestine” in “Philly”?

It isn’t and if you see from above, I don’t support those statements either!

Seeing an acknowledgement that someone is concerned that Jewish people are suffering makes your eyes itch.

So you admit these are political statements

Well it’s a cringe way of making it.

Keep foreign political statements outside of the us

If the abductees are here, post away

Because all the current protests are due to domestic U.S. issues…

The protests have to stop as well

That said, I wouldn’t hesitate even a moment to stand against anyone in my community threatening or preparing to take physical action against any group, absolutely including Jews in the community. How is this even a question? We are all humans first and foremost, and nobody is deserving of being terrorized by others, Palestinians, Jews, and everyone in between.

+1

I support Jews in my community and the country. I don’t want to see Jews targeted.

Israel is a different question. Let’s all make sure people feel safe right here in America.

great but you can’t claim to be a friend of the Jews and also think that it’s OK to destroy Israel.

I am not sure what you mean. I am not going to promise to get a rifle and defend Israel personally like Bill Clinton did. Anyway, I am sorry you are hurting and I am sorry for what you are going through.

We need to figure out how to fix what is going on on our college campuses and in some of our cities.

It’s pretty clear how to fix it. Universities need to expel any student from another country here on a Visa participating in these protests. American citizens need to be told they will be expelled if they have any language/signs threatening Jews and/or supporting Hamas.

You don’t think that will confuse the students here learning about the constitution? The one that explicitly prohibits the government from restricting political speech?

The government doesn't expell students. The schools do.

PP said revoke their visas - that’s government action

So is any regulating of protests based on viewpoint at a state school

Philly has a lot more issues to deal with than Palestine or Israel!

Why not focus on Kensington? Or other local issues?!?!?

I think there is some truth to this but as a jew with small children and with ADHD sadly I think I am still risking more than I'd gain with this approach. But it has absolutely worked for Israel for most of its history.

I should say that I hate guns and am a huge fan of gun control laws. But I do recognize what is being said, and also that there are a lot of crazy Americans with assault rifles so it is the world I live in. Living in France I would take things quiet differently.

Yep. The Jewish community is relatively small. My husband has family in Israel. His cousin’s friend was killed in the music festival.

Sorta unrelatedly, when I was on travel for gov't work and had a layover at the airport in Switzerland a few years ago, the terminal for flights to Israel has guards with long guns in front of it. Didn't see this at the other terminals. I have never forgotten this.

I have small children too, though no ADHD. I also support gun control laws. I have started looking into gun lessons and getting a license.

For those all upset about the posters being taken down this (the above) PLUS there is a flash of anger among Palestinians that so many more of them have been killed since Israel’s founding since Israelis humanizing these kidnappings is a slap in the face PLUS the posters are often often illegally on telephone poles or outside on private buildings.
