Yes, yes, yes! Love teenage Kate! Grown up Kate is, for the most part, too heavy for me to think she is pretty. And I'm fat. (Regular fat, not Kate fat) She has beautiful moments but so often her face just looks too bloated. Certainly you can see that she would be beautiful if she were thinner. And I don't mean thin, just not AS heavy. |
Yes, I feel like I could feel exactly what was inside of her when she went for Chinese food after she walked out of her gig after the miscarriage. |
I understand that yes, food is an emotional drug for her. It is not easy to stop that. But, the writers are making her highly unlikable where she blames everything and everyone for everything. The one person she needs to take a good honest look at is herself.
Any yes, her weight is distracting from each scene she is in. I am sorry if that is a hot button issue for you. Megan McCarthy's weight never seems to distract me from her roles and what her characters are saying. However, that is all i can focus on in Kate's scene's (adult Kate anyway, younger Kates are much better actresses and better) |
Exactly. The whole episode was beautifully laid out to show that parallel. Also, while I understand Randall and Beth being upset with Deja's mother, I thought they were downright rude to her. I felt really bad for Deja's mom, tbh, and was glad they made the decision not to fight her for custody. |
Well said. I've been so impressed with Kevin over the past few episodes. The scene where he's begging the one-night-stand woman to give back his dad's necklace was just heartbreaking. Breaking down outside her house... oh my. I was torn up watching that. He's definitely lived a narcissistic life, but it's all coming to a head now and probably the DUI was the best thing that could've happened to him. He's hit rock bottom and will hopefully get the help he needs now. I love Randall, but I also like a character with some flaws. Makes it more interesting. |
DP here. Yes, but I loved the scene in the Chinese food restaurant where she loads up her plate, gets ready to dig in, and then realizes that she can get up and walk away, which she does. I was so happy for her in that moment. I really wish the show would actually have her lose the weight, but I know they probably won't. |
I agree. I actually thought the college was going to be Morehouse. I loved Randall's interactions with Deja too, but I have to be honest here: if this was real life, I doubt he'd be chatting with her in her bedroom, taking her places by himself, etc. There's just too much risk of a false accusation, unfortunately. |
Yes, they're really hitting us over the head with it. We get it - bad fuse, potential fire hazard!! |
I agree. He's nailing that character. There's so much more there than we were all led to believe. |
Just like Jack’s brother popped up from the back seat a few episodes ago. A trend! |
Yup. As soon as the dog showed up this is what I thought. |
I also agree. |
And yet SHE is nominated for a Golden Globe and Kevin is not. This is ridiculous. She’s hasn’t been impressive this season AT ALL. |
I completely disagree. The mom knows the drill - she cannot randomly show up at their house and she certainly shouldn’t get in Beth’s face like that. I agree with them, that isn’t a good situation for Deja and they were just being protective of her. I totally agreed with Randall when he said “she has food in her fridge so that makes it all better”. I’m glad they didn’t try to keep her though - that would have ruined his relationship with Deja. Also I agree with whoever posted before - he was paralleling William, not his mom. |
Sure, she can't just show up and get in their faces - that was wrong. However, putting myself in the mom's shoes, I would be desperate to get my own child back if s/he was living in a foster home. So I understand her desperation completely. She just wanted her daughter. |
