What you are posting is a series of rants. The proper course of action here is to cut off the diseased limb and start over from scratch. The diseased limb here is allowing illegal immigration to fester. If somebody wants to come up with a realistic plan that doesn’t involve a tier of effectively sub-people who aren’t actual citizens to keep prices low, they can have at it. Until then, the illegals need to be removed. |
I don’t know where you’re located, but in northern Virginia where I live, all the auto detailers I’ve ever seen have been Hispanic. So if that’s the main pool of workers you have to choose from, I can see your problem trying to figure out who is legal and who is not. Not sure what the solution is but if ever there was a spotlight turned on the issue, it’s now so I hope you and other employers get the support you need to hire responsibly and legally. |
+1 The Colombian president even said he would send his presidential plane to come pick them up. I'll believe it when I see it. ![]() |
Can =/= actually will You were talking about an illegal suing you for citizenship status discrimination after giving you fake documents. There is zero risk that would actually happen even if it’s theoretically possible. Suing you for wage theft is entirely different. |
It happens every day in this country. There are law firms that specialize in it. They send people in with fake documents to specifically see if you mention it. I think it’s as dumb as everyone else. My point is everyone says "blame the employers" but do not realize there are laws in place to specifically tie the employers hands. It’s frustrating to get blamed for something out of my control. I 100% think if you allowed employers to question it, it would help slow the flow. |
My severely autistic niece has a few phrases and one of them is “too bad so sad” . I can’t believe there is an adult out there using the phrase. So juvenile. |
You understand there’s a lot of puffed up exaggeration and lies when Trump speaks. None of this has happened. And I wish some MAGAs will explain how their middle class lives will improve from all of the executive orders and deporting people which is not new. |
Can you give evidence that there are lawfirms sending people with fake documents to see if they are questioned and sue? Because it does not sound correct. Also employers can use everify if they want. Many employers know exactly their employees are undocumented. See the interview of the South Dakota dairy farmer a few days ago saying he did not believe Trump and Noem would ride his farm or other farms because they know 1) farms depend on the labor of undocumented people and 2) without undocumented workers the usa would end up with empty shelves at the grocery stores in days. Same for the construction industry. The flow would not stop if employees can question, they know exactly who they are employing but they need the employees |
It’s quite the conundrum. What do you plan to do moving forward? |
And Trump already caved. Agreed to stop sending them shackled and in a humane way. Just like Biden had been doing for years. What a stupid blow up. |
There has always been a system of trying to keep people out who are not legally here. The problem right now is Trump is a compulsive liar and is shameless about it. “They’re all rapists and murderers” is his famous stupid comment. And it’s 100% accurate that these immigrants do the jobs no one else will do and they stay out of trouble. I know many illegal immigrants and their families. Typically they are working jobs, paying rent and take nothing from the government. If Trump was honest he would talk about the gang members from various countries who terrorize the honest immigrants and Americans born here. They need to be removed immediately and should be the number one priority. . |
I’ve posted links of law firms that advertise for it, and a link that shows even if e verify does not match, you still must hire them. You choose to ignore them because it doesn’t fit the "employers bad" narrative. You have google, educate yourself. |
+1. Apparently there is an agreement between usa and colombia and in 2024 Biden did 124 flight ( an average or 2 or more per week) to deport people, all in coordination with colombia. But trump does not care about the actual deportation, he just wanted the photos with the military planes and the chained immigrant to look tough. Apparently all biden had to do was posting some photos on X and act tough |
