Those guys are perfumed princes, total political animals focused on their next promotion and kissing the butt of anyone they think can help them get that promotion. Whatever duty or honor to their Soldiers and to our country is long gone, except when they are on camera, giving a speech in front of people, or giving an interview to the media. Think I am wrong? We aren’t. At all. We put people in danger and don’t have the physical strength to be effective in combat. There are jobs in the military women can be effective at, but fighting in combat is not one of them.

Democrats don't want to send anyone into combat. Historically it has been Republicans pushing military action while Democrats seek diplomatic solutions.

But if combat is needed, Democrats do think that women are able to do the job alongside men, and should not be prevented from it based on gender. We still have a volunteer force (for now, at least) and nobody - male or female - is required to serve if they don't feel they are personally up for the task.

The ability to wage war and fight in combat is not based on personal preference.

There are plenty of men who are not able to do so. Combat Arms is one designation, Infantry is a separate category that only very specific men can effectively fill.

Infantry is its own special beast. Conducting combat operations as an Infantry soldier is not something all people are able to do. At all. Not all men, no women. None. Not an woman who is an olympian, not a female rugby player, not a female bodybuilder, etc.

Democrats are dangerous and should stop pretending they have the best interests of our military and women at heart, because they do not.

Early Islam had a number of acclaimed female warriors. Looking at Western history, I can think of only Joan of Arc. Maybe there are others.

Another woman veteran who agrees. People just don’t understand what the military asks of you haven’t served. While “in combat” is a loose term because all military members could be in a combat situation when deployed, in any job, there are certain jobs in the military that should be closed to women for the benefit of everyone. But there are many fields within the military where women are effective and do the job well. Men and women aren’t equal. We just aren’t.
