Do you dissolve into a puddle of tears every time a company lays off staff? This happens ALL the time in companies and corporations, across entire industries.

Remember covid when people lost their jobs, their businesses, their livelihoods?

This. Government workers were calm and relaxed while the government put restrictions in place on most private industries that put tons of people out of work (either officially or unofficially by simply not allowing them to work to get a paycheck). It’s long overdue that the bloat was cut from our federal government. I don’t agree with everything that Trump does but this one I’m looking forward to.

Many functions will likely move to the states anyway. So unless you’re doing something completely useless, you probably still have options if you live in a blue state. There will be some disruption but that’s life.

You are so dense. Most gov workers were very sympathetic to those who couldn’t work because of the pandemic, and fully supported PPP, eviction freeze etc. it’s the incoming party that opposes all that (well except keeping PPP to help the bottom line, whoops can’t find my workers).

I am ALWAYS upset when a layoff happens, most especially when a profitable company lays off people to goose stock.

not really, USCIS celebrated as they replace US workers with cheap foreign labor. fire every other person.

https://www.uscis.gov

One time a private business did something I disagree with and don’t like. So now I hate every private sector employee and hope they all lose their jobs!

Wahhhh I’m a giant baby.

If you were truly sympathetic to the people struggling in private industry then you would not have supported the shutdowns. It wasn’t that anyone “couldn’t” work because of the pandemic. It’s that the government (which is really just people - people like you) prohibited it. They prohibited people from going out and enjoying meals in restaurants, working out in gyms, etc. Supporting eviction freeze doesn’t help either since many small time landlords needed that money to live. The shutdowns were a disaster of government overreach and were the reason that so many people all lost their livelihoods and are in a horrible position now. All while government workers were safe. Forgive me for not being sympathetic to government workers now that they need to justify why they actually deserve their paycheck.

That was at the state level.

The PP has the logic of an angry toddler trying to lash out at incoherently because they have no idea how anything actually works.

I am literally laughing SO hard that someone thinks that government decisions like shut downs are made of “people just like you.” Hah what? I’m an attorney who interprets and writes memos about complex regulations. Nobody bothered to ask me a thing about how to handle COVID.

Serious, bahahahaha! Can you imagine thinking *1.5 million* GS level fed employees had any say in local governments shutting things down?! How do you become disgruntled and stupid enough to think like this?

Yeah, like good lord, do you think patent examiners were deciding shut downs? Or the people who process SSA benefits? Or the person doing medical device safety research?

Everyone knew that conservative voters were against extended (beyond first 2-3 weeks) shutdowns because they were already vocal about it. If liberal voters (95% of DC are Dem voters) were also against shutdowns then they should have made that clear to their representatives and we would not have had them.

So in your mind all Feds are liberals, and liveral voters caused the shut downs. And you're just going to ignore that the health officials deciding shutdowns were also looking at how hospitals were doing (they were not doing well at all). So let's fire the feds?

Yeah, you're completely nuts.

Not every fed is a dem. And a lot of dems were not for shut downs (I know a lot who were against it). And let me repeat these were issues decided at a local and state level. I get you’re angry about it. I have a special needs kid who lost a lot of services during shutdowns and I still have anger about that.

But I’ve figured out how to move on. I’m not just lashing out at people who had nothing to do with this because some vague notion that somehow the entirety of X group of people were responsible for Y thing I don’t like.

I get it you want a scape goat but you’re grasping at straws here.

And I will add that while I’m someone who voted dem at the national level because I don’t think Trump and his billionaire ilk actually give a crap about the American public, I actually did vote locally for more moderate/conservative candidates because I understand those are the people who can help change things I don’t like at the local level (e.g. I didn’t agree with the school shutdowns and masking mandates, and I also don’t like the focus on offender rehabilitation over victims in our prosecutorial system).

But this is because I know how to channel my frustrations toward the relevant group of people.

Laying off a bunch of GS-9 support staffers isn’t the “gotcha” for shutdowns that you think it is.

And this bizarre conservative mindset of wanting to punish anyone they can get their hands on for something that happened 4 years ago.

And good lord, people were dying. Have you talked to anyone who worked at a hospital back then and talked to them about how utterly compromised medical care was back then? It wasn't just COVID, because of the hospital system being overrun they had trouble finding beds and staff to care for people who had heart attacks or who were in car accidents.

The poster is in serious need of therapy if they think destroying the federal government to hurt random people for a complicated issue from 4 years ago is acceptable.

How many times does it need to be said…the extended shutdowns happened entirely on Trump’s watch…100%. Again, 100%.

Even the most liberal areas started opening up schools starting early 2021.

Honestly this poster is consistent with the harassment I've received from the public thr past few years. I send instructions asking someone to submit a simple extra form, I even handhold all the way through the process and I get back deranged vitriol, completely disconnected from reality. Of course then I have to deny their application necause they never submitted the forms I need and then more hate. Something has gone really wrong with people.

I’m a fed with a special needs child who struggled terribly during the pandemic and I was incredibly frustrated with many decisions at various levels of government and even just the culture that led to some ridiculous decisions at our private preschool. I truly don’t understand the “burn it all down” mentality that people have though. And also, again for the people in the back- it was a Trump administration!

Do you dissolve into a puddle of tears every time a company lays off staff? This happens ALL the time in companies and corporations, across entire industries.

Remember covid when people lost their jobs, their businesses, their livelihoods?

I can’t wait to see the mass fed layoffs. Time to trim the fat!

Yes because layoffs at Social Media companies and such are so similar to layoffs that affect health and safety of the U.S.

You all seriously deserve to get everything you voted for.

And this time, there will be no one to process your PPP loans or your stimulus checks when you all decide to tank the economy!

Yup - and those Trump voters will get all butthurt when those Gov services that they rely on (SS, Medicare, Obamacare, IRS refunds, VA, you name it) begin to suck because their guy did exactly what they voted for - and then they'll likely blame Harris and Biden. Clinton, too. And the Trans/Woke/DEI people. And MSNBC.

That’s because they are all 🤡🤡🤡 who have no idea what the government even does.
