Other feds just very depressed?

Trump doesn’t want to ever print a negative jobs number…my guess is not filling open positions, having a certain amount of attrition if they mandate RTO and other accounting gimmicks may get you to a massive headline number.

Having government layoffs turn jobs negative isn’t something that will fly.

Also, how will any of this help with inflation or housing costs, etc?

Honestly, nobody cares about budget deficits because they never translate into anything that actually directly impacts anyone.

Elon fired 70% of twitter. That is not just a blowhard

And Twitter still exists and works. Elon found that that number of people weren't necessary to run it.

Same with the Fed.

Yes there are some very vital and important jobs, but there are more that just plain aren't.

Name the unimportant jobs that add up to $2 trillion.

Oh, and Twitter doesn’t work half the time now, most famously evidenced by it crashing when he tried to host an interview with Trump. It’s also lost a ton of traffic and is documented to be overrun with bots and fake accounts. (P***y in Bio anyone?)

Elon has said he wants to cut an amount that exceeds the entire discretionary budget. He would need to eliminate every agency, including the military, to accomplish that.

What does add up to 2 trillion? Average federal worker makes 106k, 3 million workers. My calculator says that's 218 billion a year.

When you say specialized job and skill do you mean useless?

I think it’s amusing Fed workers are so concerned.

We have some major issues right to solve including a border crisis, war in the Middle East, etc. No one cares about Feds RTO or other BS.

The DOD or social security/ Medicare are the only things that could be eliminated to add up to huge government savings.

It's so sad, they are completely clueless.

And our agency leaders are trying to boost morale right now so we all just don't give up on our jobs, and continue to work on these major issues.

I remember reading a CFRB report at some point that said that if you avoided cuts to spending on defense, veterans, Medicare, and Social Security (all of which no one wants to cut) you would need to cut all remaining spending by 85% to achieve a balanced budget over the course of a decade.

We are worry. As soon as my husband told me hat Trump won. Right away, I think about how much money we had for emergency & how long it will last. We are unsure to how to continue our investment for the future. The stock market is very high since election. Our net worth is at the highest right now. My husband told me that we are trying our best to stick it out. We can look at our net worth to see if we can do FIRE oversea. We have middle school & high school. We would like to live in the same cluster. 529s are not full fund yet. Even without certainty for the future, USA is still my best country to live in my opinion. It comes will come. We just do our best. My best hope Obamacare will around so we can buy health insurance with pre-existing conditions when we don’t have jobs.

As a percentage of GDP, discretionary spending is at a historical low, and that’s spending that includes Defense! In dollar amounts adjusted for inflation, it’s also been flat for 15 years.

Republicans love to whine about spending, but the growth is entirely due to Medicare and Social Security (plus the extra debt from their tax cuts).
