Mueller does not find Trump campaign knowingly conspired with Russia

Even Tony Soprano was smart enough to delegate so that the buck didn't stop with him.

Just saying.

You all are excited about the idea that there isn't enough collusion for a criminal conviction eventhough there is evidence of collusion. There wasn't NO collusion. So I guess a little collusion is ok for a politician to take an office?

Trump needs to push the "fake news" narrative hard now after this. You had the media pushing this thing really hard for the past 2+ years, in what has basically been a soft coup attempt.

+1.

Essentially 50% of political news in US mainstream media for the last 2 years have been FAKE NEWS.

Those "uneducated" Trump voters are looking smarter by the day.

Also, I love Lindsey Graham.

If you think what has been reported is fake, then you just don't like facts and you are buying into the parsed narrative provided over the past 19 hours. Thus, reading and critical thinking are not your strengths.

Please post from Barr’s letter where collusion was found.

???

I don't "think" it is fake.

It IS fake, as proven by a multi-year multi-million investigation.

WASHINGTON, March 24 (Reuters) - Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election did not find that any U.S. or Trump campaign officials knowingly conspired with Russia, according to details released on Sunday.

Attorney General William Barr sent a summary of conclusions from the report to congressional leaders and the media on Sunday afternoon. Mueller concluded his investigation on Friday after nearly two years, turning in a report to the top U.S. law enforcement officer.

(Reporting by Sarah N. Lynch and Andy Sullivan; Editing by Leslie Adler)

The headline of this thread is wrong. It should read "Barr does not find Trump Campaign knowingly conspired with Russia" and the fact is, there are four partial quotes from the full Mueller letter that are taken without context to fit Barr's narrative.

The public deserves to have both Barr and Mueller on the record and also to have the full report and underlying evidence so as to understand whether impeachment is necessary or if the president and his team are exonerated. If what Trump, Sanders and those happy about these findings are true, then there should be no issue with releasing this information to Congress to close the chapter on this issue once and for all.

But there are still loads of investigations ongoing from the other federal courts, and financial crimes are still crimes. I’m quite sure the Trump org’s shady at best, illegal at worst, financial dealings would have never made public had he never run for president. As soon as he’s out of office, he’s done.

If 6 people in the Obama or Hillary Clinton campaigns were indicted and sentenced to years in prison, right-wingers would be foaming at the mouth. Don’t pretend like this is some “no big deal” thing when, if the shoe was on the other foot, Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media would be screaming about it.

Same. I really don't understand the Trumpkin glee. Maybe they really are simpletons.

Think of how it will look to the reasonable people of this nation if NY waits to pounce on him. No one will believe any of it. And the Dems know it

Crimes are crimes. The federal courts aren’t just going to say “welp” and throw away all of the evidence Mueller provided them because you think it looks bad. A sitting president can’t be indicted so he’s safe now though.

Maybe someone can wait until two or three days before the election to make an announcement that they are reopening the investigation?

An investigation which has yielded several guilty pleas, several indictments and a slew of cases being handed off to other parts of the US justice department. If nothing happened, why are there so many people lying about it and going to jail? Oh, and Paul Manafort has more than paid for the investigation, so the cost is not an issue.

Which proves the democrats only care about the narrative.

Mueller specifically said that this is not an exoneration of Trump.

Any while collars lawyers here who have done internal investigations willing to chime in whether the Mueller added the "does not exonerate" language as a CYA?

This was ONLY in regard to obstruction because the SC did not make a decision on that. He was exonerated on collusion, conspiracy and coordination as pp said.
Please... read the report. Do not take what the pundits on CNN or MSNBC tell you. They will mislead you every time.

"the Special Counsel did not find that the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in these efforts, despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign."

On Obstruction:
"After making a “thorough factual investigation” into these matters, the Special Counsel considered whether to evaluate the conduct under Department standards governing prosecution and declination decisions but ultimately determined not to make a traditional prosecutorial judgment. The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other - as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as “difficult issues” of law and fact concerning whether the President’s actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction. The Special Counsel states that “while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

To those of you saying..... "but, but, but,.... this is only Barr's interpretation of the findings. Not Mueller's......."

A little refresher for you......

Remember a couple months ago when BuzzFeed published a report that Trump had told Cohen to lie under oath?
Then, in less than 24 hours, Mueller's team issued a statement refuting that report?

If Barr is misrepresenting ANYTHING that Mueller has reported, do you think Mueller would just sit back and let misinformation spread?
Do you not see the ridiculousness in your thinking?

Maybe that'll work THIS time?!?!

I am a Democrat. Been convinced this would be the outcome since the beginning.

But are you SERIOUSLY okay with a President who was caught on tape saying those things, and paying off mistresses, and taunting people like a seventh-grade bully on Twitter? THIS will be the real long-term impact of this whole affair - that it has pushed people into defending the indefensible. Trump is a pig and unqualified for the office he holds, and that really shouldn't be in dispute. That reality is what has pushed so many people in government and media to pursue this insanity like a bunch of third-rate gossip columnists, while Trump refashions our government into a right-wing proto-fascist version of its former self.
