sounds cool but they have rules. What you would be suggesting is a transfer portal for teenage travel soccer lmao. That would be amazeballs to see. But not realistic. Rules are rules

Actually the rules aren’t so rigid. A good atty could win this case hands down for the players. Imagine how holding children hostage for a sport would sound to a team of jurors.

Are you suggesting there’s no point in ECNL having these rules? In that case should all coaches and clubs just keep openly recruiting whenever they want and players just switch teams as they choose?

Sure why not. Maybe then the clubs would actually make efforts to have good coaches and keep good players from wanting to leave in the first place. It’s all in the game. Unless you didn’t come to play.

The season has not even begun, so yes they should be allowed to switch. This is just an angry failed FVU club trying to hurt the kids they deceived.

Not according to ECNL rules and dates.

depends on what the contract says. Might not even make it to a jury if it’s ironclad.

assuming ur the parent did u move or just wanted to leave bc everyone else did? Va and md timing is different so my assumption is u left after rosters were settled on w deposits made.

Regardless if u win this i opens up a crazy door for ecnl.

Unless its arbitration in the contract

I am an attorney. I read the ECNL rules, as much as I hate to say it, FVU has no chance of winning this. Look up the defined terms. Say goodbye to your old teammates. They are gone. Be nice, if history is a guide, they will be back. BSC, and their abusive coaches do not have a track record of keeping top talent at the older age groups. You can welcome them back later, or you can alienate them. That depends on if SYC parents can be civil, I doubt it, but it is ultimately your choice. Can you not bite off your nose to spite your face?

That is the problem with youth soccer. Too many parents forget this is a pay to play system treating this kids like Pro players in Europe. Hard to wake a delusional person up.

The other factor here is that tryouts are a fraud. And we pay a lot of money to be on these teams. Let's say you are a good player, you go to BSC tryout. You don't make the first team and assume it's because either the roster is full ( yeah I know, it's never really full) or you aren't quite good enough. But then you find out spots were held for these other girls, and you have already paid your money in full to be placed on Team 2. How is that not wrong? It happens all the time around here and I am not an attorney but I think this is a problem.

It’s wrong to be placed on team two because you aren’t good enough for team one?

SYC?!

Yall talking about these rules?!
https://theecnl.com/documents/2023/9/11/ECNL_Competition_Rules_2023_2024.pdf?id=2

2:13:2 will be problematic if the parents willingly registered and accepted before BSC tryouts. No way around it.

2:13:5 could be problematic if ECNL determines they torpedo’d FVU team. Sounds like BSC could get PDA’d and have events removed thereby making it a waste of a season.

3.141 is pretty straightforward about the transfers.

If there are no geographic moves involved. Then the commish looks at the other factors surrounding it. And if those factors are as shady as posters are insinuating. Those kids may end up suffering as a result if impulsive decision making as the commish has to look at those “other factors surrounding”
:idea :

2/3 options are ugly. Denying the transfer most likely will leave the kids out in the cold unless roster space is available and said coach wants them to suit up.

Sanction and suspension (which sounds like the likely angle being sought w the coaching poaching allegations) gives coaches and parents what they want at the expense of the season. A true cut ur nose off to spite your face moment. I see this being the likely outcome if FVU released the cards as it puts then responsibility on ecnl to enforce the contract.

Lastly is just letting everyone leave…
No suspension or sanctions. Which is probably what parents and coaches were/are hoping for… but that ignores the other clear verbiage in the contract rules.

Bluf: if u signed ur binding language makes leaving difficult outside of geographic moves… which is why most family get a rental for this kind of stuff.

Will be am interesting thing for the commish to work out in the next week or so…

these are your feelings. When in reality your feelings are right… they dont mean that the clubs are illegal in these practices. They can roster up to 30. Heck there is another club where the TD/coach signed players of one age group because they are carpool buddies. You cant make this shyt up. Its DMV soccer at its finest and probably why the fubol culture is so bad out here.

It sucks… its not right. But it is what it is.
