DC Soccer Club

Regardless of the outcome, this situation is likely to have a significant impact on DCSC’s reputation, especially given its prior controversies. It does raise an important question: after the interview airs and more families from DCSC and other clubs see it, will the organization continue to stand behind Greg Andrulis and Michelle Alioto?

From previous actions, It is clear that either he doesn’t listen to his legal team or he is receiving terrible legal advice.

Maybe they would do a better job winning back/recruiting/retaining players if their teams actually had results. The club's first year in ECNL-RL was dismal.

Has anyone else heard the reasons why Walsh was dismissed from Northland in Wisconsin? I can’t find any news on the issue but I would like to verify.

Looks like he was at Northland for a year for the 2019-2020 soccer year. That’s right around Covid when all the NCAA coaches were getting furloughed since there was not going to be a fall 2020 soccer season.

Sadly it looks like that college has closed due to financial issues. Sad to see another D3 shut down!

Somebody going full Rudy G polic op here on brookland. First inventing mental slur now dirt digging on anon site. Expect parroting their own posts. How much for this service?

That’s your experience; more power to you to stop looking at this thread.

Over here in NE, many people are hoping for the least-negative outcome possible for Tom Walsh because he cared for our kids in a way that DCSC never has.

I wonder how many of these responses are written by Tom. He was our son’s coach and was ok at best. He was almost always late and always disorganized. There was something odd about the way he talked that made me uncomfortable. We switched programs for our oldest, in part because of Tom.

WOW. I just want to know the truth. If I’m expected to trust my child’s wellbeing to a coach, especially to an organization with a bad history, I want to know if they vetted him properly. This is a concern we all should share.

You mentioned that it’s clear he either doesn’t listen to his legal team or is receiving poor legal advice. That may be the case, but if Michelle Alioto and Greg Andrulis are truly correct, and have nothing to hide, then the obvious question is:
Why hasn’t this situation been reversed?

If they are in the right, why aren’t they fighting to be fully transparent with the DCSC families? Why not make public that they are countersuing Tom Walsh, and bring their case to the media as well?

After all, when someone is truly in the right, and has nothing to hide, transparency should be the strongest tool, not something to avoid.

I believe many in the DC community are asking the same questions, and it’s fair to expect honest answers moving forward.

Because that is how DC Stoddert and now DC Soccer operate. Me and a few other DC residents carpool out to MD because DC Soccer cannot get it’s stuff together. As long as the parents don’t care and simply have rec in NW, nothing will change. DC Soccer as a whole is a poor representation of what the District is capable of in developing soccer players across the whole district. As a NW resident, I am ashamed to say DC Soccer service priorities look similar to a century old redlining map.

Their legal history mirrors that. Tell them to remove the gag orders and confidentiality agreements if the public wants to have a real conversation.

Quite the opposite. Experienced, confident litigators with facts on their side don't try their cases in the media or to the public.

It's clear their are interested parties in this thread and I'm sure they have the best interests of their children in mind. From the outside, though, it looks like folks have gotten wrapped up in this controversy and possibly lost sight of the part most important to the soccer landscape more generally: DCSC (Stoddert) has always been a mediocre club. For the 10ish years I've been a soccer parent in DC, DCSC has been through multiple directors and administrations. There have been controversies over field space and leadership and high profile hires. Through it all, the club has remained completely irrelevant to most high level players who, if they start there, end up at Achilles, Bethesda, or in Virginia. I'm not sure how to fix it, or if it's even possible. It just seems priorities might not be in order.

What Mental slur?
It was a wide unfounded accusation that appears to be reported and deleted.

Nobody should slur another for mental health issues. I have recently interacted with one person involved and did worry about his mental health. Concern should be the only response, not disparagement. What is happening to people. This is kids youth soccer.

I can’t wait to find out how much of this thread was posted by Tom or DCSC. Who cares this much. Except us moms here for the daytime drama 🍿

It’s clear there is ongoing debate and involvement in this thread between Tom Walsh and members of his club, and Michelle Alioto, Greg Andrulis, and Jane Dawber.

I sincerely hope the situation can be resolved constructively, allowing everyone to move forward and refocus on what truly matters, serving the players and supporting the broader soccer community in DC.
