DC Soccer Club

My child has played with DC soccer club for a few years and it just seems like things have become so unorganized. Also, there aren’t as many kids and the coaching is lackluster. What is going on?

Their enrollment is down. The quality in players and coaching skill level is down. It is a combination of not playing in competitive leagues and mismanagement in leadership roles.

I’ve noticed this as well. Someone on the NWLL scandal post mentioned they’re going through their own drama. Not sure what they meant.

We’re new to DC and want to sign up our son. What’s a good league to join?

PP, check out DCYFC. They have a team that formed this year for that age range.

Washington Capital United is based on the Hill and for his age has a couple of boys teams each for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. Plus girls teams at those age groups. The coaching is great

+1 for DCYFC. I’ve also heard good things about DC Eleven (no direct experience).

We are super happy with Brookland FC. It's affiliated with DCSC now, but that hasn't caused any problems so far. The coaching is great, the kids are nice, and I like the parent community. It's not the most elite club in the area, but I feel like my kid is getting good fundamentals while still enjoying soccer, which can't be said for some of the other clubs in the area.
