The principal sent an email update yesterday, regarding how they are dealing with it at the school and how parents may support their children. The contents of the email have been posted to the O-A website.

This report says "a number of parents have come forward with letters of support for Pena". WTF, are you kidding me? Please tell me it ain't so. |

I agree. This kinda made me ill. Perhaps written in haste before the confession? Even so, this must make the victim's family feel great. Not. |

Yep. If you were the parents of another victim, would you come forward? Maybe not, unless you were planning to put your child in a new school. |

Not the pp, but I find hard to believe there are parents that will still support peña. The latest update is rather nauseating. |

I met Mr. Pena professionally in his early teaching years, and was surprised at the number of people who would go weak kneed (can't think of another expression right now) at meeting him based on his "looks" alone. He was also a very nice, charming person, so this would be amplified upon getting to know him a little more. I'm finding the whole situation so nauseating, the parents of this child must feel disgusted. As a society, we are so blindsided by how people look as oppose to the contents of their character. Regardless of how Mr. Pena appeared, presented, or "is" his character is tarnished. Remember, he is 31 years old now and could have sought out help before abusing this child. |

| I am sorry but as a parent myself (not OA parent), could not imagine to condone such horrible actions. I don't care how good of a teacher/friend etc this person was to others. Also, I am very disturbed by the fact, according to latest news update, Peña told the victim he wished they were the same age. |

Really, in support of pena? O-A parents-help us out, why the support at this point? I could underdstand in a murky situation, where there could be the question of a fabricated story. But pena CONFESSED, there is a photo of his penis on a kid's phone...all support should be going to the family of the victim and all the kids at o-a who must be so confused. just does not make sense to me. |
