Every article says that the OVERWHELMING majority are not criminals. ICE is going after the easy targets, hard-working and law-abiding immigrants -- which is not what they promised. |

Let's see. You seemingly are a hard core law & order guy. What about Fatty Orange, who has violated far more laws and more serious ones. And, yes, we of course should deport or imprison illegals who commit serious crimes. [Not sure why we want to deport them, versus trying and imprisoning them.] |

This whole situation is being framed in a misleading way, and the use of his military service is unnecessary and intended to provoke outrage. At least one of the individuals in question was a convicted attempted murderer serving a sentence in a U.S. prison. There is no reason for American taxpayers to continue supporting the incarceration of a non-citizen who committed a serious violent crime. He should have been deported when his conviction occurred in 2009. He had every opportunity to pursue U.S. citizenship during his military service, and he also had every opportunity to avoid committing a crime of this magnitude. His actions—not his prior service—determined the outcome. Deportation in this case is appropriate and consistent with established policy. |
