Based on what I've read here, McKngit seems determined to investigate this matter with transparency and integrity and hold those responsible to account.

She is one of those responsible—what is she planning to do to hold herself to account?

That doesn't seem accurate. This was going on long before her tenure. At least she's trying to clean this up unlike her predecessor.

She oversaw this man’s promotion. The buck stops there.

Dammit - we're going to get rid of her one way or another!

MCPS knows other principals that have done worse and Beidleman is not going to be made an example out of because it looks racist. So sit back and relax. Go to work and pay yourselves on the back for bringing the mcps loopholes to light. Call it a day.

How was she trying? She did nothing until the Post exposed what was going on. She had notice before article was printed and did NOTHING.
That is all on her.

That's not true at all. Just because she doesn't publicize these issues doesn't mean she isn't working night and day to address this and hold those responsible to account.

She promoted him. What are you talking about? His bad behavior didn’t start under her tenure it continued under her watch and SHE promoted him despite that. There’s no way she’s not culpable.

+1 Promotion from MS to HS principal is a pretty big deal, and Dr. McKnight thought he deserved that honor despite a serious history of sexual harassment, inappropriate behavior with students, and hostile work environments.

Moreover, McKnight had served as Deputy Superintendent since 2019, so it's not as though she arrived from out-of-district and inherited a problem employee. She was part of the system that protected him, part of the system that insisted complaints not be read unless they arrived on exactly the correct form, and led the system that promoted him.

Do you really think this woman would put her job on the line for him… He is a dime a dozen and from what I hear he had been trying to get into a high school for years. I think they were trying to get him out of Farquhar to end the witch hunt but it only made it worse because no one wants to see a black man move up.

She is one of those responsible—what is she planning to do to hold herself to account?

Very interested to see how much pressure the County Council Education Committee puts on MCPS "leadership" during the hearing on the 28th. Wish I had a youtube link.

There are only 14 high school principal jobs in MCPS. They are highly visible and a big deal. McKnight green lighted his promotion to one of those despite a zillion allegations.

And thats the absolute minimum of competence. More likely- she knew about and covered for him for years. The promotion is just what finally brought all this to light.

The Board of Education will protect Dr. McKnight. Is anyone supervising the board who can hold them accountable? who Knows? Left alone, the Board and Dr. McKnight will announce a series of changes, Dr. Beidleman and the head of compliance and anyone else the IG digs up dirt on will be gone and things will move on. Maybe they’ll get someone to run investigations who knows what they’re doing and this won’t keep happening. Watch for an exodus of principals this year. Who wants to be part of a system that makes you look sleazy? Whether Dr. McKnight had all the details or not, she should have known and put a stop to the behavior. The principals will tell you this was an open secret for years. Dr. McKnight rose through the ranks as a AP and principal with the current principals. She had to have heard stuff. Doesn’t matter if it was consensual either, it’s still against the rules.

No, it was the WaPo article that brought this to light. The article was in the works many months before his promotion.

I thought they were already investigating this, but just don't make personnel matters public
