I'm fine with Jill taking those powerful estrogen drugs. I'm even wiling to call Jill a she/her. I'm NOT okay with my kid doing it though! In fact, I really wish Jill would stop walking around the neighborhood with her dog because my kid might catch the trans.

Don’t tell me you want to force detransitioners to debate their existence

They’re welcome to exist all day long. Just like trans people are.

So you agree that this path is a mistake for some people

With permanent consequences

I agree that some people make a mistake and then say that because they made a mistake, everyone is making a mistake and they want to remove all trans people’s rights to transition.

What about hhe ones who just say slow down, address comorbidities, make medical steps a last resort?

Are you talking about for children? Th were a lot of controls. For adults? Adults have bodily autonomy and the right to make mistakes. I’m not all about infantilism of adults.

Do you agree that some people aren’t making a mistake and that transition is right for them?

Sure

But if you think there’s no social contagion or influence you are just kidding yourself

I have family members w kids in school in very blue areas and the numbers and clustering of kids with gender identification issues is just amazing

I know people who are trans that have kids. Their kids aren’t trans. You’d think they’d have caught the trans contagion right?

Your logic is not very strong

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

What the logic there’s a contagion then?

the burden of proof is actually on the other side: by what logic is contagion NOT (one) factor?

in fact, it's theoretically not possible to prove that contagion is never a factor, but anyway:

1) other similar psych conditions (dysphoria/dysmorphia) are known to be socially contagious, so why would this one be exempt?
2) read about ROGD
3) if you promote something to kids as a way to be interesting and different and protected from bullying and to get more attention from adults, including their parents, can you imagine that that would have no effect on any kids?

plus my own personal observations, but to be fair, those are anecdotal, maybe it's just like knowing a lottery winner or three

When backwards people get scared they quickly revert to type. They never really supported gay people or their rights. They just convinced they could tolerate if it so long as no one was “shoving anything in their faces” that could get in the way of them jamming the rest of their backwards religious agenda down our throats. Sure, gay people have rights, so long as I don’t have to serve them at my for-profit business. Etc.

This isn't "Republican trans panic."

What you are seeing is pretty nonpartisan. Or, bipartisan. People from all backgrounds and politics are tiring quickly of the push to condone the trans lifestyle. And, yes, condoning it is what is expected. There is no space for anyone to speak out against it..... you will be canceled, shamed, banned and possibly even arrested.
The best thing that could happen is to have LGB without the T.

You missed the data upthread that Republicans are souring on LGB too, not just the T.

So are Democrats. You missed that little detail.

Our politicians bring some issues to the forefront for shock-value purposes. The primary agenda behind many campaign strategies is continually reminding the sheep of why they should fear the awful other side with the end goal being to prevent voters from shifting from reliably red or blue to possibly swing voters. Political messaging that targets keeping the sheep in line is just as important as the messaging geared towards recruiting swing voters. Most of us are sheep and some of us are swing voters but all of our votes are targeted with carefully planned political messaging campaigns that are very effective at using fear and shock-value to woo voters. Fox News, MSNBC and the likes align their messaging to the messaging coming from the base of the party they are in bed with to make it very difficult for American voters to step outside of the political bubble that encapsulates them.

What you say may be true, but it has been my observation that the push back on the trans agenda is not coming from politicians.
It is coming from parents whose children are being forced to participate in pride activities in schools. It is coming from consumers who want companies to stop with the virtue signaling in trying to sell their products. And, it is coming from sports fans who want to keep the whole Pride push out of the sports arena.

I agree for the most part but it does seem as though Desantis is exaggerating some of the questionable aspects of the woke/LBGTQ agenda to stoke irrational fears. Both sides have inflated and distorted what's right and wrong with these types of social agendas to stoke fear for political gain.

The actions DeSantis has taken is a direct result of parental concerns about the crap that was appearing in schools.
It started with parents.

Because that detail is a LOT littler among Democrats.

Well, I know I don't want Karey Burke, the president of Disney bragging how she has two children, one is transexual and the other is pansexual. She then says that 50 percent of leads in Disney films should be LGBTQIA.

Don't take my word for it. It's all over youtube.

Contagion? Maybe. You don't think children will take cues from what their parents push?

What exactly is the endgame here? To have half tbe population LGBTQIA? Tell me what the goal is, so I can know when we've arrived. Just WTF is it you want?

A TV or movie character is not going to make someone gay. Jesus. What is wrong with you?

The gay agenda when it comes to Disney movies is that they can take their kids to see it when it comes out. Maybe item 2 on that movie agenda would be not letting their kids talk them into spending $75 at the snack bar. This is if after the gay agenda items of grocery shopping, and carting their kids around to various sports.

You guys are both reading below grade level

The PP’s point was that maybe it isn’t a coincidence that both children of a lady wholeheartedly devoted to LGBTQIA+++ issues turn out to be gender nonconforming.

If there is one thing we learned during the pandemic, is that democrats are willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of children in order to not look like a MAGA. So they are just slow on the uptake, but it’s happening.
Even some gay pp pages back mentioned that the T is causing bad juju for the LGB community.

No other group is more insistent on not being left alone. No other "oppressed minority group" is more celebrated and gets more exposure.

-pride rainbow flags everywhere
-pride parties at the White House
-forcing people to use your preferred pronouns
-demanding access to women's spaces and pride parades
-drag queen story hours at publics schools and libraries?

Hello! Why do you say they want to be left alone while they are begging to be seen, heard, tolerated, accepted and validated?

Pansexual is not “gender non-confirming.” It has to do with sexuality, as the name would indicate.

I know other families with more than one queer in them. I’m bi, and so is my child. She did not know I was bi until I started dropping hints after I saw a text between her and and her friend about her sexuality. I didn’t make my child bi. She is who she is.
