Any info about him growing up?

seems very normal family, two sisters that are therapists, mom actually posted about tragedy of uvalde and against guns and for mental health resources.
no info on dad
fellow phd student said maybe he seemed socially awkward but nothing stood out.

Where are you seeing this? God his poor family.

+1 Yes. No privacy any longer. Their work addresses and names are out there.

No, the poor families for those four victims. Could care less about his family and no I do not believe for one moment they did not know something was up with this freak show.

I don't think it's fair to blame siblings.

+1. His sisters didn't raise him, didn't murder anyone and are about to have their lives ruined. What were they supposed to do, call the cops a year ago and say my brother seems like a creep?

It’s not. It’s a normal, common thing for lots of people to do; 2 years CC to save money on tuition, live at home, then transfer to a 4year for the degree.
The killer part, though, that’s not part of the plan.

I mean in terms of stress, living on your own, completing research and a dissertation, etc. It can tip the scales for someone with underlying mental health issues.

Not really.

He’s gonna be an incel and he targeted 2 girls who paid him no attention and the boy/girl were just unlucky.

i thought incels weren't interested in women?

Uh, no.

I've done all these things, and you know what crazy idea I had? Dropping out. Not murdering a bunch of people. Not remotely on the radar for any persons struggling with mental illness.

Incel is short for "Involuntarily Celibate." So they WANT to be intimate with women, but are unable to (presumably due to their own awkwardness/anti social behavior.)

Guessing they tracked his car. Got DNA from a used cup, ran it hit a hit.

PP here. Thanks. That would make sense, but one article indicated that they had his DNA prior to tracking him down. Didn't make sense.

Maybe as part of his criminal studies, he had to give DNA?

No…they are interested in women but it’s not reciprocated.

Thank you! I'm an older poster and obviously clueless about this.

PP here. I work in the mental health field and know that the stress can definitely precipitate mental health episodes for some people.

He is a PhD student at Wash State U in Pullman which is <10 miles from Moscow where the murders happened. Not sure if there are connections beyond that. Kaylee's parents said that they are not aware of any connection, but obviously there could be a connection they are not aware of. (Not even in a nefarious sense - besides maybe closest friends/roommates, it's not like parents would usually know the names of people who their college kids are studying with, in class with, chatting with at a bar/party, etc.)

He could have seen the two girls out and simply followed them home.

Or he could have been following them on Instagram. There was a post on Websleuths that he was following 2 of them on IG and they could have posted their whereabouts that night.

I wish the web sleuths would just let the police do it’s job instead of publishing unconfirmed information.

Yep, those are fake accounts made today after the news broke.

The internet has successfully solved 100 of the last 2 actual crimes.

A lot of people do two years at community college, finish at a four year university, then go on to masters/phD. You are a snob.

Not at all. I think community colleges are great! You are misunderstanding my post. I was referring to the stress of not being near family support and living independently while trying to earn a Ph.D. More than a few students can't take the stress, and it can trigger mental health episodes for those with that vulnerability.
