Anyone watching Mare of Easttown?

It’s gotta be the priest, right? Why else would he be introduced? Frank will be suspected. Paternity results will reveal that neither Frank nor the teenage boy is the father. It’s the priest.

DH, who’s from PA, appreciates the Rolling Rock, Yuengling, and accents.

Mare’s dead son was on the autism spectrum, so maybe Mare is, too.

Those Italians are sure portrayed as hotheaded, huh?

Narrator: Rolling Rock and Yuengling are widely available outside of PA, and the accents are not well done.

The boy failed to have any real tears.

Mare and her BFF now bond over each Losing a child. Very sad. The friend’s life is a disaster now. Poor thing.

no, the gun was missing longer I think. Lori put it back and Mare covered for her. Never explictily said.

It was said, described, and shown on screen. Do you always make stuff up?

I agree this is a huge leap and not supported by what we saw onscreen. But the gun thing is a bit confusing.

The guy said he went to get it the night of the prowler, but it wasn't there? But that wasn't the same night as the murder, right? That was the very first scene I believe in the early morning that Mare went tot heir house, and we saw Erin alive through the course of that day.
I think he also said that ever since his wife died things went missing, but that was before his wife died?

I think the timeline is getting me. I think the old guy noticed the gun missing days/weeks after the night in question then it showed up again. I don't believe that it was put it back that night. I don't think that would allow enough time for the cover up/rest of the narrative. They old guy did not call Mare over b/c the gun was missing, he needed to talk about the overall stuff going on with him with his wife dead, and the gun bit was an aside.

Was Kevin having an affair the past month or was it just Erin regularly calling about money for DJ's ear surgery and covering up his son's crime that had him acting odd.

Lori never should have adopted that baby and I don't believe it would have happened. In real life she would be tiresome, that friend/family member that continually chooses to make her life more difficult.

The kid thought to move the body to edge of woods and return the gun, then call dad? More sense would be he freaks out, calls mom or Billy, it is dad's fault this happened so avoids him, or dad doesn't even look at phone thinking Erin is calling again. Well on second thought, an adult would have thought to dispose of gun not return it. Still don't think kid would have taken it back that night. Seems one of the adults would have removed from the shed anyways.

Props to that kid riding miles in the dark in 20 degree below weather.

What was DJ's full name shown on the doctor's screen? Daryl Jsomething?

The old man said he heard a noise around 11pm the night of the murder and went to get the gun, but it was missing. He just noticed it was back. That’s how she knew the exact time to look at the camera footage. It’s 100% clear.

Of course this would never have happened. Her son killed the infant's mother. The baby is in direct high risk with this family.

Thank you! So she knew who took the gun. I'm spun up on who put it back and when.

DJ’s name is Dylan John. You get it, right?

In mid Jan in Delco it’s usually 25-45F depending on the day.

Yuengling and Rolling Rock are available outside of PA. Yes Rolling Rock is widely consumed in PA and I drank it a lot growing up nearby.. But the owner of Yuengling is a Trumper who held Trump fundraisers so I avoid Yuengling now. Also yes beer is sold in big boxes from distributors.

The accents are pretty good but accents can vary a lot across southeast Pa so some people may find differences.

Ryan’s long bike ride to the park was the most difficult detail for me to swallow.

I liked the way the show handled the John-Billy confrontation and Mare arresting him and the confession. All just really well done and got it out of way early leaving lots of time for character development and the last twist.

It was Ryan. It’s hard to believe he managed all that in the cold, but it seemed accurate.

Thanks for answering the name question so politely. Assumed it was John. I couldn't read it and wanted to make sure it wasn't something missed.

I went back over it and I agree, thanks for talking it through!

As devastated and desperate as John and Lori were after learning what Ryan had done, I cannot square their desire to pin it on Billy (and murder him!) with them being halfway decent humans.

John is not a halfway decent human. The only decent thing he did was confess to try to protect his son.
