What political agenda? Is civility a political agenda? I assumed that civility is bipartisan, but I guess that doesn't fit your narrow view. It's ok to have a different take, but the day civility to everyone becomes a political agenda rather than a universal one is a sad day for all. As for me I am a lifelong conservative but I am civil and I listen always and don't get down to reductionist activities and nastiness.

Lighten up Francis.

I guess Francis does not see the irony of calling people narrow and nasty in a post lecturing everybody about civility!

As I am apparently "Francis" (which anytime there is a Stripes reference, I have to applaud), let me clarify. Saying someone has a narrow view is civil, as is disagreement when it is done without malice. Civility doesn't mean complete agreement, it means politeness and courtesy in speech or word. And saying that I don't get down to reductionist activities and nastiness isn't a comment about the original commenter but rather a general statement about discourse lately on both sides of the aisle. The only directed comment was the word narrow. Which I think is fair to say that someone had a narrow perspective where my mention of today and a return to civility had someone try to discredit everything said because I clearly had a political agenda.

ever wonder why none of the other parents talk to you at your son's practices or games?

This is a forum for all types of discussions and I think it is a great place to agree and disagree. I for one feel like parents have a responsibility to only spend money on things they feel they get a return. If the return is just your kids enjoyment that is fine, it doesn't need to be D1 coaches knocking down your doors. We are parents and all presumably have kids that play(ed), support them, spend what makes sense to spend and remember it's for them not for you. I have had a number of events fall short of my expectations at a variety of price points but I don't fault the organizers, I just know that some are going to be better than others and those that fall short will only get my money once.

Enjoy and have a civil night.

-Francis

Top Caliber has no shot.

At a minimum, here are the East Qualifier Teams

Towermen
Tigers 26
Hawks
BBL
VLC Black Ops
Madlax Monuments

Only four of the above will advance.

Hawks and Tigers will definitely qualify. BBL was a semi-final team last time. It’s going to be very competitive.

Going to be in teens with wind chill Saturday! Black ops is where it’s at!

There's at least one kid who has an invitation to both right now for the U12's. A middle. Not sure if there are any others that have tried out for both and made both. How those kids fall will probably determine which team is better or do they split and thus make both teams even?

Wouldn’t BBL have different players and coaches from last time? Not sure how a different team from two years ago translate to this year’s team.

Same at u14..at least one middie has an invite to both MadLax and black ops. These teams diluting the talent is why they won’t make it as far as they could have. Maybe down the road we will actually get a terrific DMV tourney team...wishful thinking?

The Madlax kids trying out for BlackOps will become VLC or NL players within a year....you can bet on it!

Multiple kids have offers from both, but it is even more fluid than that. The top 10-12 projected players on both teams could contact the other and be offered a roster spot if they wanted one. Kids are weighing their best option based on (a) where there friends are, (b) which team has the better chance of advancing, and (c) where they stand on the depth chart at their position. Neither team is set until everybody is paid up and the rosters are submitted to WSYL in March.

Is there a time limit from when you get an offer to when you have to pay? Not sure how players could move between teams unless they pay for both?

How many ML u14's tried out? There weren't that many, maybe 3 or 4, at u13 and they weren't that good. They were 3rd line maybe on the NL, VLC or BLC teams.

Madlax was only $400 upfront, so people may have been willing to eat the $400 to keep their options open.

Or the new team would just give a credit for the amount paid to the old team.

Any thoughts as to whether or not they’ll take even numbers from each club?
