My grandfather saw a lot of friends die in Vietnam, he doesn't have any respect for a nancy boy neocon like Vance itching to start wars with Iran and Russia.

I'm no fan of Vance or Trump, but isn't Vance's position that we should abandon Ukraine and just let Russia have it? I thought he was an isolationist who will just rollover for Putin and any other "strongman" dictator.

Honestly, I don't know WHAT their position is. What does Trump want to see happen with Russia and Ukraine?

Whatever Putin wants.

Except Putin took ground during the last two dem administration but not Trump’s administration…and Obama refused to sell Ukraine javelins. Trump did. Apparently Putin does not want more Ukrainian ground and wants his tank crews killed. So odd.

Abandon Ukraine Day 1. Let Russia have them. Not our problem. Pull out of NATO so Finland and Poland aren’t our problem either. Or the countries after that.

If you get the feeling you’ve seen this playbook before, it’s because you have. Decision not to stop Hitler early may be the biggest foreign policy mistake of the 20th century. Although Vietnam ain’t great.

You say "not our problem"

I wonder if you thought about how much of our economy is based on trade with Europe and what the impact would be if that were to stop because of war?

I’m saying that’s Trumps position. I believe we need to be in it in Ukraine. I hate it, but it’s the pragmatic thing to do— not let Putin get even stronger.

Trump OTOH….

Where did he make these remarks? Shame them for sharing their platform with a misogynist.

I'm not defending his stance, which is wrong.

But he is saying that all children should have a vote. (Presumably unborn fetuses too I guess?)

Since kids under 18 are still minors, their parents would vote for them.

So have 6 kids, parents get 6 votes. Now, which parent? Mom or dad? I guess he'd say dad...

What about kids of illegal immigrants, but kids who were born in the US? I wonder if he has really thought this through because he'd just magnify the immigrant/minority vote, wouldn't he?

Seems like he should be advocating for lowering the voting age, then, so the kids can have their own agency.

JD is the epitome of closeted gay Republican politician. Safe bet he’s setting off Donald’s gaydar.

Trump neither wants to nor will drop Vance. He loves Vance and considers him almost like a son similar to Don Jr.

Vance is not gay. Just because he grew up in a dysfunctional family where he couldn't learn social skills and preferred the company of guys (most teenage boys do that), that does not make him gay.

Unlikely. Vance does absolutely nothing for Trump but Trump does a lot for Vance. Trump doesn’t seem to like people or take and benefit from him but give nothing in return.

Perhaps Trump really is getting too old as he’s letting Vance take advantage of him. There really is no downside for Vance. If he wins, he gets to be VP, probably President as Trump won’t make it four years. If they lose, he can easily blame it on Trump and he’s set to run in 2028.

This is really about boosting the voting power of Evangelical, Catholic, and Mormon families, who are the base of the GOP. There's nothing pro-life/natal about this. It is simply a ploy to increase their power vis-a-vis their dwindling support in the population.

Catholics lean Democrat (44% v. 37% GOP).

Vance is very clearly an Ivy League atheist.

Vance was an atheist. According to Vance, his wife strongly suggested after marriage that he find faith and religion since she's a staunch Hindu. He decided to become a Catholic later.

Will Vance choose the couch as his running mate?

LOL he looks so stupid for this hire. If he dumps him right after the convention, I will die laughing. It will make everyone mock Trump.

Any girlfriends before his wife? He was like age 25 or 26 when he met her and professors set them up to date. And then he sought out a gay male mentor. And he wears eyeliner.

Trump has an incredible radar for salacious and embarrassing stories, he 100 percent has heard the rumor about the couch-effing. He also knows all about fake stories made up by others—both as a purveyor of fake stories and a target of them. But he also doesn't care. He loves to hear the story, but is incredibly vitriolic towards the victims of them.

Vance became the GOP nominee for Ohio because Trump endorsed him, and Trump had originally endorsed Josh Mandel, but pulled his endorsement because of unpublished rumors that Mandel had a "very weird" sex life. There's no indication he does. The mere whiff of a scandal, which Trump enjoyed hearing about, was enough to turn Trump against Mandel and throw the race to Vance. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if, at the end of the day, we find out that Mandel is behind all of this.
