War with Iran Part II

From what I’ve read about oil reserves, it sounds like Iran literally has us over a barrel. I don’t think we have any other way out but to concede everything. It’s like Trump’s failed businesses - he is declaring bankruptcy. Art of the Deal and all.

Well there still is Turkey. Turkey is high on Israel’s list along with NATO.

Iran could rake in up to ~$10 billion off that decision alone.

In contrast, the Obama admin didn't lift sanctions until a deal was signed and the IAEA independently verified Iran's nuclear compliance.

There's no way they are giving things like that away without a signed deal. Otherwise we straight up lost the Iran war and are giving concessions.

This is not February 27 2026. It is June 22 2026. The world has changed, the US lost and the US military has failed. We are surrounding thanks to Trump and republicans.

Yes way.
Trump is giving away the store in a desperate bid to open up the Strait. He messed up bigly.

So, what is your solution to keep the war going?

When the administration wants to take the exit route don’t encourage it to continue for the dead end.

That dog don’t hunt.
You don’t give up all your leverage.

Trump chose to ignore all the expertise at his disposal. All of it. For example:

Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine has been advising President Trump and top officials that a military campaign against Iran could carry significant risks, in particular the possibility of becoming entangled in a prolonged conflict, according to two sources with knowledge of those internal discussions.

Trump should resign for his failure as commander in chief. Withdraw US troops. Stop canceling wind and solar projects. Ask the UN to fix his mess.

It’s still very bad globally but at least someone with clean hands can try and patch things up. Trump has failed and shown himself unfit to continue as POTUS.

So what are we going to do when Iran sells the oil we licensed and then closes the Strait again?

How long will the released reserves last?

Why would they close it again?
It’s not in their best interest or their supporters.
What they showed in this war is they take proportional measures when attacked.

Indeed, it's sad to say that this terrorist petrostate has behaved much more consistently and rationally than the US and Israel.

What have we come to.

They may as well fight the whole world. Turkey, nato, Iran, Egypt, I guess Latin America too? When is enough enough? Let them fight alone

Oh they will definitely close it. We are running out of reserves so closing it now gives Iran even more leverage. Israel and the US look like morons to the rest of the world. Lebanon is obviously a red line for Iran and the best part about is they’re watching the Us and Israel fight each other over that. They don’t even have to lift a finger

Nothing. We lost the war and Iran is now the main power in the middle east.

This is part of Donald's legacy.

Maybe, maybe not, but I don't think the familial angle is all that relevant. Lebanon is a far more educated and developed country than the Gaza strip, and has much culture and history to preserve, as well as historical ties to neighbors and to its diaspora. Lebanon has long been an ally of France, for example: there are many well-to-do Lebanese in France, and evidence of French culture in Lebanon. I know you're just comparing body counts, and I agree that protecting all life matters more than handwringing about century-old alliances, cultural artifacts or historical buildings... but the fact is, Lebanon is seen as a more valuable nation overall than the Gaza strip.

Actually the Gaza Strip is the most educated part of the Middle East including Israel.

Lebanon is seen as more valuable because it is liberal and more westernized and more Christian. However Christianity did not start there. The Gaza strip, Bethlehem, Jericho, Nazareth, Jerusalem were all Palestinian cities and the entire area during the ottoman era was not even called Palestine or Israel but “the holy land”. Lebanon is not land people are willing to die for and not as historically relevant. Israelis themselves always give up with Lebanon.

They won’t however quit regarding the holy land. Much like the crusaders before, they will keep trying to stake a claim there and genocide the natives although history shows the crusaders despite the violence lost because they never gained the holy land

The Gaza Strip connects Asia to Egypt and has lots of history. Yoy can google and find out what Gaza meant to the ancient Egyptians, Israelites, Greeks, and Roman Empire. It was a huge factor

The money is to be released in increments when the Strait is open.
If they close it money is not released.

They don't have the money now, and still have us over a barrel. They know that keeping the strait closed hurts everyone else in the world at least as much as it hurts them. They can play games with it to their heart's content, and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it.
