Was planning on the lunar new year event but not risking kids.

Have you seen the emerging videos from their hospitals? It is a nightmare. Anyone who is advocating for a free medicare for all should watch it.

Wouldn’t the doctors be top notch?

Would masks make any difference?

Do you mean in the DMV? You realize most people celebrating here, live here and have never step foot in China even if they are Chinese American?? Is your concern that you’ll attend and out of the 1000 people in attendance it’ll turn out that one family brings along their cousin visiting from China or even 5 or 10 families? Bc how can you know who has what/what flight they were on yesterday?

Many Chinese patients and Chinese med students think not.

Arent there multiple celebrations even in this region? How do you know which one they’d go to? Though I suppose if it concerns you, avoid all of them or go to one that’s 1-2 hrs away — you know they’d take the kids to one close by just for ease of transportation.

Great, to bring those people here to contaminate all of us. Ugh

I certainly hope they’ll be quarantined for a long period.

Those people are US citizens. Many of whom perform services that keep you and your loved ones safe and free.

The French plan is to bus citizens from Wuhan to another Chinese city where they would be put in quarantine. The logistics are still being worked out.

The US plane will be staffed with medical personnel. Presumably there is some monitoring plan for when they arrive.

Also, US citizens opting to be evacuated will have to pay the cost of the plane fare, which is high because it is chartered.

I would trust that CDC does know how to run those things, after all CDC stands for Center for Disease Control.
I trust that the control part of the CDC Acronym would suggest that they know how to handle the epidemics
and isolating people who were exposed is probably part of the management?

I teach many Chinese heritage students and first gen immigrants. There’s starting to be some nervousness about being targeted by ignorant people. Not an unreasonable fear given how Haitians and DRC Congolese have been treated in the past. Or even claims that Central American migrants were bringing measles.

Don’t you know that DCUM knows better than the CDC, WHO, doctors and all experts?
