Found this on twitter. It is the questions that were asked in his "study". Holy crap.

Any info about him growing up?

seems very normal family, two sisters that are therapists, mom actually posted about tragedy of uvalde and against guns and for mental health resources.
no info on dad
fellow phd student said maybe he seemed socially awkward but nothing stood out.

Where are you seeing this? God his poor family.

+1 Yes. No privacy any longer. Their work addresses and names are out there.

It isn't clear that it was "his" survey. He was a student investigator, working for a professor. Professor has refused to answer any questions about his research.

Not sure about that. His reddit posting it seems to be after he graduated.

Report from an aunt that he is hyper-vegan, to the point of OCD-like behavior. Phd candidates are usually pretty intense personalities but this had to be some kind of sociopathic break. He also wanted to know if anyone else had been arrested. One of the theories was this was not done by one person. I'm sure LE is far from being done.

Socially awkward, intense, OCD... wait for more...

Went to a community college his first two years. That's a big jump to more recently working on a Ph.D.

So disturbing. I wonder if they'll discover that the same knife was used in all 3 of these stabbings. All were stabbings in the relative same part of the country, similar time of early morning... so creepy.

It’s not. It’s a normal, common thing for lots of people to do; 2 years CC to save money on tuition, live at home, then transfer to a 4year for the degree.
The killer part, though, that’s not part of the plan.

No, the poor families for those four victims. Could care less about his family and no I do not believe for one moment they did not know something was up with this freak show.

PP here. I agree that the parents likely knew something was amiss with him, but often families don't realize the degree of pathology.

I mean in terms of stress, living on your own, completing research and a dissertation, etc. It can tip the scales for someone with underlying mental health issues.

Agree! I am relieved they found the guy before he killed others. He likely killed before the Idaho spree. Horrible!

You can have empathy for the victims families without villainizing the suspect’s family.
