A quote from the article. 100m is like 1/2 of the US population (who is eligible and willing). |
Oops the quote “We are confident in our plans to deliver 100 million single-dose vaccines to the United States during the first half of 2021, and we are continuing to partner with the U.S. government to explore all options to accelerate delivery,” Nettles will say. |
In England as well. https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3790399 86% reduction in infections after second dose in healthcare workers tested every two weeks. |
Under 25 cases per 100K. My guess is we have more TB here than that and we don’t isolate.... |
Maybe because you can call your doctor’s office or Minute Clinic to schedule a TDAP vaccine at any time? Do you think that has something to do with it? |
This is great (consistent with Israel study). Both studies were on Pfizer. Any similar studies on moderna? I get vaccinated tomorrow! |
What do tetanus shots have to do with tuberculosis? |
... and what does any of this have to do with COVID (the topic of the thread)? |

Good news from CNN. |
Bump |
If the vaccines stop deaths, then reduction in infections doesn’t really matter. People get sick all the time with other illnesses and don’t die. Reducing Covid to that level is a gamechanger |
I posted the TB post. My point is that when you reduce the spread to a very low level due to vaccination, then the draconian measures (everything closed, etc) and stop. And 25 cases per 100K is a low level. I guarantee you that we have more people walking around with TB then with Covid in this county, and we haven’t shut down. |
In fact, if you look at the FFX County Health Dept site, they have happy phrases like “As long as there is TB in the world, we will have it in Fairfax County”. This excuses away how a disease is getting here. Yes, it matters. |
I'm 2019, there were 8900 new TB cases in the US, or 2.7 per 200k over the entire year. https://www.cdc.gov/tb/statistics/default.htm We have a lot of covid right now. It's decreasing, which is good, and we'll be returning to normal this year, probably this summer. That's great news. |
This may be a data error, but it's one worth screenshotting and dreaming about in the interim.
